Aatrox destruction

No.., not Aatrox doing the destruction. I am talking about Aatrox being destroyed by nearly all champions in Top lane. The only thing Aatrox can do viable in the game now is JG and even that is sometimes a mess. Late game I can start ramping up a little bit in kills and solo'ing a few champs like Pyke or Teemo, but there is no way in heck that Aatrox can match up to Darius, Garen, or basically any other top lane. My E poke is pretty harmless even if I couple it with Comet. Early game If I don't take Q at lvl 3 then I can't escape most people's dive or a gank from JG.

Everybody has something that either makes them immune or takes away 50% of my health as soon as I dive or go into combat or some kind of teleport -stealth-jump-hook-pull thingy. I spend 90% of my time trying to recover my HP with my W on minions to keep up while the other top laner is diving constantly.

--If I build pure lifesteal then I seem to be able to hold my own a bit longer, but in the end I am still getting out DPS'd. --If I build lots of Crit, then I do some serious damage but I'm pretty much a glass cannon getting 2 shotted by everyone --If I build tanky then I can't do much damage to anyone and end up just tickling champions while they go ham --If I go JG then I can occasionally get a good gank, get ahead and snowball a bit, but I'm usually outpaced by most other JG's like Udyr and Yi --Ya, I have a built in revive, but usually, the enemy champ just sits on me and kills me anyway immediately after --There is no possible way that Aatrox can defeat Illaoi.. It's game over really quick in those cases. --Aatrox's ultimate seems pretty good if you can catch people that are slowed by your E or stunned, but I feel like it needs to be reworked into some kind of execute or big damage increase instead of so much attack speed

So am I just not playing Aatrox correctly and I'm still a noob or does he need some serious help?
