Genuine question on how to lane against Xayah during laning phase

Right, so it's obvious that this match-up all depends on how you position against her, but these are the issues I always face while playing against her, mainly on where you should stand when there are feathers on the ground. If stand too far away, she can start zoning you off exp with her passive and Q, too close, and she can easily win a trade with her E or W. Finally, I have absolutely no idea on how to avoid her ulti, since she can use her W Speed buff+ her invulnerability to quickly get into position. That, and the invulnerability is a damn pain to get around.

She has self peel, tons of AOE, and fits into the ardent meta well. But is she overpowered? Slightly, mainly because of her synergy with the support meta and the fact that I've yet to figure out the right approach against her, NOT because of the kit itself.

I was thinking about just going all in at lvl 2 to try and shut her down early, but for the most part, is quite hard with the meta supports right now (janna, soraka, ect.)

Also, any thoughts on what champions she struggles to go against are?

are you playing as ADC or support? (although i this point in the meta i should probably also consider you are playing top or mid..)

for adc i would consider champ that can dash to avoid her E. other champions such as Ashe work well after 6 becuase she can only use her ulti once and have another from of CC not from the support means she wont be able to dodge both

The biggest, and probably the dumbest mistake that i see people frequently do against a Xayah is that they try to bumrush at her directly, treating her the same as any other Marksman...

This will almost always lose you a fight with her. Moving directly AT XAYAH when trying to fight her is a death sentence, you HAVE to sidestep... A LOT... What i mean by that is, when trading auto's with her, move sideways in the downtime... This ensures she never has feathers behind you to snap you with her E, and can pretty much force her to use R to place some feathers behind you, which is when you should flash to avoid it if you still have it up or simply move AWAY from her while she is in R invulnerability. (This also especially applies if youre a melee champion, but works for ranged as well...)

you don't sidestep immediately, you sidestep diagonally and near the last second (last second will be too late). There is a delay between the casting of the ult and the pullback. If you are the aggressor, you will lose distance if you sidestep too soon because you have to make a wider arc. The thingy is a cone, meaning it's thinner closer to her than further. That's for the ult anyway. And I don't play bot lane so can't really tell you much about the laning phase.

I feel the main tip to fight her, not including her ult, is to always kite sideways away from her feathers.
