I'm a tryndamere main and I was browsing our sub reddit about the stupid nefs to the statik shiv and I found this. This isnt about the statick shiv even though that sucks because I hate building hydra but in the regards about trynd being braindead. Thought I would share it.

"Word. People chat about Tryn being braindead when there are tanks that can faceroll keyboard in a teamfight and win by virtue of being unburstable CC bots. Yh Tryn isn't mechanical, but in gold and above you need a brain to consistently be effective with him. He has glaring weaknesses you have to play around. People look at the 5 second Undying Rage as broken noob skill, but you still take damage, you're still targetable and able to be locked down. There are other champs with in built survivability - fizz, ekko, kindred, zilean, Vlad, kayle, good Yi with Q, xayah, zac etc Not sure where I'm going with this rant. I don't know if i like the direction league is headed. There's enough overloaded cheese in the game as it is. Shiv nerf i could live with but that thornmail - if it stays the same - is broken BS against auto attack sustain champs. /rant over"

I feel like there should be some sort of grievous wounds reduction item, like "GW is x% less effective on this target," but it should be a slightly out-of-the-way item. That way, not everyone just buys it and it becomes another Death's Dance. Basically it shouldn't have too many good stats for autoattackers.

Fizz doesn't have survivability, neiher does xyah. They have escapes, survivability is heals or hp regen abilities. Survivability means that you can escape with little hp and come back ready to fight and regain some of it.
