The Real Reason Autofill Exists.

I have been reading about this topic it seems for half of forever. The player base hates autofill. The player base does not want autofill. IT does not need to exist in lower ELOS. Pro Players, Streamers, and normal Master players do not want it to exist. I have seen real smart people demonstrate with math how the league of legends would exist without the autofill system. They make it easy to understand and use analogys so the rest of us stupid people can understand. The autofill system really only save minutes per que depending mostly on the avg time it takes to play a game. IT doesnt save or shave off hours upon hours of que time like RIOT would like you to believe. So if it doesnt save loads of time and the player base largely does not want this to exist then why does it continue to exist. It can come down to only 2 reasons.

  1. Riot does not care about what its players want and does not care about its opionions.

                                           or

  2. Riot somehow makes more money because the autofill system exists.

These are the only 2 reasons left. I would like to belive that RIOT does care about its players. They must somehow make more money by more games being played faster. They sell more skins or more boosts or something that creates more money the faster games are played. It is the only answer. I have learned over the years that if you cant figure out why something is the way it is ......90% of the time it comes down to ...more money/ greed. ITs that simple.

Oh gee this is a whole new world opened up. That a company who's business is running a game, would make more money when the matches get launched in a timely fashion? What a novel realization you have there sir, bravo.

Actually it does. Without autofill, the wait time for a match will be equal to the fatigue time of the difference in proportion of players between the most and least popular roles. And while I do not know exactly how much time this is, since that time depends on people quitting, we know for certain that without autofill, people will wait long enough, to rage quit the queue.

I used to think like this, that autofill saves 5 minutes or queue or so, and that was that. But than someone smart made me run the math again, and I realized autofill doesn't save up any specific amount of time: it saves exactly the amount of time that it will take people to rage-quit the queue.

IT doesnt save or shave off hours upon hours of que time like RIOT would like you to believe.

And the reason it does not, is that you are not willing to wait hours on hours. Had you been willing to wait, it would have saved exactly the amount of time that you would have been willing to wait.

Show me.
