Hello, Ive been playing League for about a year and a half. Its been a great experience (not counting the trolls, and early levels) So I have a fair picture of what the game looks like. I feel that champs are insanely hard to afford. 6300 for one champions is a lot. Your average player does not spend huge amounts of time on the game. Counting school/work etc. Lets say an average player can afford to play one game a day. That means he can earn around 200 IP a day maximum. Counting the win of the day. But that's if you win a game. Winning a game is a task in itself. If you think about it. It takes about one month to get a 6300 champion, that is counting only wins. Nami item 3070

So I am asking Riot to add champion sales but for IP. So that players can afford champions which make the game fun. Lets say the champs can go down by 20-30%. It would honestly make the game so much fun. There would not be as much stress on winning games to get IP to finally be able to afford a champion.

Also I'm asking the League Community that sees this to Up Vote if you agree. Lets make League more enjoyable summoner 4

See you on the Rift friends [slayer-jinx-wink]

But Rito's money... they need more money.... Seriously, though, Riot wont have champion ip sales because they get more money from only having rp sales. No one would get champions during rp sales if there were ip sales.

The game is free to play thats how they make their money...

You do realize its a free to play game right? It's supposed to be a grind to get champions. I've been playing for 4 years now and I still don't own all the champions. Not to mention I've spent roughly $500 on this game. You just need to play more and make what use you have of your champion pool like buying all the cheap champs. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSWDUfM-GK4k-py2PmOIpZYVcFoI1_WnheeKiTRL2WzSl9iJWL-Ww

It took me three years to buy them all with IP....

@Riot is a business that offers you everything you need to play the game for FREE. You have to spend no real currency! If that's not good enough for you, then find a new game to play. Too many people expect something for nothing, try earning things in life, it's more rewarding for you.

Here's the reality... If you don't have the patience to farm the IP to trade in for champions and runes, you don't have the patience to be good at this game.

If you want the game to be a free-to-play game.. you need to be realistic about discounts. They're giving enough free content away already (with the exception of online-tourney prize support, which they need to bring back, now.)

Well, the likelihood of them implementing this is low, since it detracts from those who had previously planned on buying a champ on sale for RP, but in an ideal world, this would be wonderful. It bugs me that, even when I play at least one-two games a day (at least it seems) I still am struggling to afford a 6300 IP champ faster than they can release one. Not that I need all of the champions in the game, but it would be wonderful to actually own them all, instead of spending six more years trying to slowly-but-surely get them.

im not against it, but rito needs to get money and they do get money with champs

maybe only a champ every 2 week get a ip reduction would be great =D

I've been floating over 100k for years now, sometimes over 150k, and whenever I see posts saying prices are too high I just don't understand.

Serpents Embrace7/6/2016, 11:04:44 PM2 votes

Your scenario is a better baseline for "minimum investment required" and not the standard on which IP reductions should be based on. Playing once a day, win or lose, is a really casual way to approach the game and one month seems like a pretty reasonable amount of time to permanently unlock a top price tier champion when putting forth so little effort.

But even using your scenario as the standard, the person you're describing isn't going to be affected much by it. Assuming the budget of 6300 IP / month, they'd get access to twelve randomized champions of any IP price tier half off, right? The chances of the discounted champion being one that they wanted is ever decreasing as more champions are added. Plus, some of those champions aren't going to be 6300 IP tier because the choices are randomized. You could be getting a high price tier champion for 3150 or you could be getting Annie at 225, even though Annie isn't difficult to purchase in the first place.

If anything a better solution is to ask for an increase in the amount of champions in the Free to Play rotation or an overhaul in how they're chosen, such as more 4800/6300IP champions and fewer 450/1350IP champions because the people utilizing the rotation are more likely to have purchased cheaper champions. The person you're describing is extremely casual to begin with, and they would could get access to several different 6300 a week instead of playing for a month just to get access to one.

Sooner or later you will have nothing to do with your IP, i got all champs and runes i want along with some rune pages after about half of a year of playing.

Astôlfo7/7/2016, 1:18:14 PM2 votes

Even if there is an IP price sale, it should be nowhere even close to 50%. That's just fucking absurd. Maybe like, 10-20% max.

SloPro117/7/2016, 9:59:28 PM2 votes

I'm playing this game for 3-4 years (since season 2), I have a bit more than half of the champs (like 60% or something) and I own all the 3150 and below, that means I only have a few 6300 and 4800 ones, I also bought 1 or 2 on sale. I usually play one game a day but I've played way more than 4x 365 games because I used to play a lot more back in the day. And yeah, I have 2 basic rune pages. So yeah, it's pretty frustrating, but Riot doesn't really give a shit, it doesn't matter if their rp champ sales go down by just $100 in one year or 10000, they won't do it because they want to squeeze out as much money as possible.

MToTheAtrix7/8/2016, 9:11:36 AM2 votes

For everyone saying thats how they make their money. You do realise most of the RP comes in for -Skins -Icons -Wards -Hextech Chests -Bundles And many more? They would honestly lose out on much.

I don't think having sales on the FREE currency of league is a very good idea. It isn't so hard to get the champions you want, especially running IP boosts or just buying them for RP when they're on sale. Giving a sale on IP just takes away from wanting to buy ANY champion with IP until they go on sale. atleast that's how i feel

RageQ27/6/2016, 8:22:30 PM2 votes

I feel as if it ruins the fact of getting all champs as an accomplishment this is only because sales would make some of the higher costing champions easier to achieve. I felt wonderful when I got my first 6300 ip champ because it felt like a hard saved accomplishment and that's what I feel like Riots trying to get out with these high costing champs. Now it's true that it's not that enjoying right now as it is back then, but it still is pretty cool knowing that most people spend a lot of time on the game, based on the amount of champions they own.

Aitikian7/8/2016, 5:07:11 AM1 votes

Starting out unless you use money yes the IP is very high especially considering at the same time you have to purchase runes. However I would argue your average player plays 1-3 games daily, 3-5 on weekends or non workdays. Very easy to net around 200IP a day, thats not including when Riot does Party bonuses or free IP boost. 1400IP a week, 5600 a month roughly. 120+ champions only 10 years for the average purchasing to purchase all champions. Yes this seems insane, now keep in mind Riot is a business this game isn't a charity they have countless employee, servers, testers, coders, equipment, all require money to operate. Hence very active play or monies.

Hrd2H1t7/8/2016, 6:22:42 AM1 votes

I really want IP champs to become cheaper but I don't think having IP sales would do any good. Champions on sale would be bought like crazy and playing them would be nearly impossible. For example, if Zed was made a lot cheaper for a week, Zed would have an extreme play or ban rate.

Niyumi7/8/2016, 6:26:50 AM1 votes

Won't happen. This would lower the amount of champs bought with RP, and the amount of IP boosts sold. RP sales actually stimulate buying RP. IP sales would hurt it. Our GLORIOUS Asian overlords over at Tencent will NOT allow the slightest drop in profit, nor would Beck, the asshole in charge in America.

So, while it'd be nice... it won't happen.

elon wątroba7/8/2016, 1:46:29 AM1 votes

I could see ip sales during events associated with these champions. Ie cho during void event => 675ip.

Rozair7/8/2016, 2:04:25 AM1 votes

they will never do this because riot wants you to spend money on champions. I have owned every champion for a long time and by the time i new one comes out i will have another 6300 ip thats how you beat the system lol
