Wonder what you guys think about this/was the punishment okay? So, little heartbroken me got perm suspended today. Background info: From a DotA2, virtually no punishments are given in Dota, so start of league is a little rocky with the bans. You see, if i got something for being nice I would be nice, but i'd rather play having fun and making friends laugh. Early league life i used up alot of my bans, i was still getting used to the league vibe. Here is some of the games that i got banned off of. Game 1 was decently offensive, but only offensive one since Januarary. It did warn me but i don't think a perm ban should really be a ban at all. Only for DDoS threats, etc. But flame? No. Thoughts?

Bot wasn't doing anything, got me tilted when 4 mid and no pings. Mild salt.

Garen was salty, afked after he realized he was wrong , and started flaming me first.

So the real reason i made this post was to ask some questions.

Why should I be punished defending myself? Why should i be punished from 4 premades who all report me? Why couldn't i be perm muted? After 2 years of league, im quite sad, ive spent real cash on this game and been on for TWO years.

Made this fast and late at night, sorry if its sloppy. Just wanted to get this out. Sorry if some parts don't make sense. Please no "you deserved it huehue" Second time writing this, first one got deleted ._.

TLDR: I'm sad and regret of ban but why perm?

Punishment is done in 4 tiers in order;

  • 10 game chat restriction
  • 25 game chat restriction
  • 14 day account ban
  • Permanent account ban

Except in severe cases such as the use of hate speech or death threats, they go in order one at a time. It takes 3 months for your punishment tier to drop. I'm assuming you had a 14 day ban already in the last 3 months? If so, this was the result of a long history of toxic behavior, not just this.

Why should I be punished defending myself?

What are you really accomplishing by telling your team they are bad? You aren't defending yourself here, you're causing more problems. All you need to do is mute and report them.

Why should i be punished from 4 premades who all report me?

This does not happen. Punishment is calculated per match, not per report. 9 reports have roughly no more weight than 1, as all they do is flag the match to be checked. More reports won't make the system check it any harder.

Why couldn't i be perm muted?

If you've gone through the previous punishments, that means chat restrictions have little to no effect on you, so obviously that wouldn't be an appropriate punishment in your particular case. Riot used to do stacking chat restrictions, but people would just keep stacking them and keep abusing other players; it simply doesn't work. They will not completely remove chat because a certain amount of chat communication is expected, and is more or less necessary. However, you only said one useful thing (pink), so it's pretty clear you don't know how to use chat properly. Move your chat box off the screen or rebind your enter key, and/or /mute all.

There was no space so I'm not sure if that was part of your argument/questions. Riot does not care how much money and time you've spent; you can not buy special privileges. The rules apply to everyone, and you agree to them every patch and every time you log in. If you refuse to follow them they don't want your money.

If you got perma banned for that, it means that you were already punished before, for bad behaviour and continued behaving poorly after those warnings, so receiving harsher punishments is fair, as you were warned previously.

You can't be perma-banned instantly for poor behaviour/first time punishment, so unless it was your first time punishment and Riot made that kind of mistake (highly unlikely), you most likely deserved it.

Anyone that has been given a second chance, don't necessarily need a third.

You're not defending yourself. What you said does nothing to protect you from the words they said. What your words do, however, is try to strike back. You're not trying to prevent whatever damage words can do, you're looking for an "eye for an eye" treatment.

Retaliation is a punishable offense. I'm sorry, but you broke rules and you were punished for it. This doesn't necessarily speak about what kind of person you are, only that you broke the rules one too many times.

If you make a new account try to get some thicker skin. Words can only hurt you if you let them. If someone is acting toxic toward you just ignore them as best you can and make full use of the mute button. Nothing good can come from retaliating.

Good people don't require "something" to be good, being nice is its own reward. Plus when you're nice you don't get perma-banned, which is pretty sweet.

Since perm-bans don't happen right away and you admit to being toxic since you started I would say it is well justified.

Just remember, perm bans means Riot does NOT want you playing anymore. Not that they want you to reroll.
