Shyvanna Ult Rework

Here's an idea for a Shyvanna Ult rework.

There would be two uses. One, she jumps to target location and deals impact damage in the area, and sets the area on fire dealing over time damage. (similar to what it is now, but NO push back effect and added aoe damage)

Her E marks the champion. She can target the marked champion with her Ult when in range (melee) and she grabs her victim and launches them into the air with her, where she impacts the ground, causing damage and AOE DOT damage. (She would mark them with the E, then R click them, this will root the champion for a half second, where Shyvanna will then launch towards the player mouse, or where the player clicks R a second time, or clicks to move)

The first one, the range of her flight will be increased just a little from what it is now, so she can jump into lane for a gank a little better. And the second one, where she grabs an enemy, the range is cut in half, maybe even more, so it's not completely devastating cc.

This will give the lady with the dragon inside the CC she desperately needs, and a little more lane pressure in general.

Also, her passive should be changed to include; Dragon Love: whenever Shyvanna is near Jarvan IV, her E shoots flaming hearts.

Wouldn't it just turn her into a monster Vi? I don't think it would be balanced.

Eh maybe... Honestly id just be happy if they took the Knock back off.. all that ends up doing is putting the enemy further away...

Yeah it's really annoying.

that knockback used to screw me over everytime, I hate that thing

Not really. Vi targets from a distance. With Shyvanna you have to get close and then grab them. And you have to mark them with the E, which isn't that hard, but it would be an added step.

And if it makes her more like Vi, how is that 'not balanced'? Other champs like Vi have CC ults, why not make Shyvanna's a little bit better CC than it currently is?

And I'm only thinking it would carry the champion like half the distance of a Blitz crank pull, so it wouldn't be very far at all, just a little reliable displacement than her current, unreliable displacement.

With Shyvanna you have to get close and then grab them.

I'm saving it as a gapcloser and initiation if there is no other form of initiation present; currently champions are way more mobile for shyvana to be able to go up to them and then use the ultimate. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. I'll review some footage.

And if it makes her more like Vi, how is that 'not balanced'?

Because if every champion is incredibly tanky, has a lot of cc, and a lot of damage then there is little counterplay. Something has to give - in Shyvana's case, CC.

Yeah, I'm not sure how other's play Shyvanna. I've always flanked from the side in a fight and rushed the back line. Running right at them will get you kited even playing other champs that have a better gap closer, let alone Shyvanna.

So if you're saying that bad Shyvanna players won't use this Ult, because they can't get close to their target, then there's nothing I can do about that. Bad players be bad man.

For the counterplay, Shyvanna doesn't get super tanky until she turns into a dragon, and her damage output isn't that much more/less than Zac, who has a ton of CC and initiation/gap closer.

All I'm saying is that personally I think the knock back is just kinda an odd thing in the kit... I mean she has one ranged move that does almost no damage and her main way of catching people is her W So if you get stunned or binded your stuck. So if you ult a morgana and then she Qs you after you land, she gets away where as if there was no knockback you could have landed right on morg and if you had a sunfire cape and used your w she would be dead just by you being there.

I was thinking it sounded more like she grabs the champion midflight as her "knockback"

That is what was said in the original post, witch I am ok with but it might mess up her balance. When I made that comment I was directly responding to the comment I replied to, not the original post. I personally don't really see why her kit needs a knockback in the first place...I feel she would be just as good as she currently is without it.

Well the thing is her balance is around her having a knockback. They just assume that it isn't buggy af 90% of the time when balancing.

Thats how I play her to, when I use to main her after the E rework 2 years ago, I remember telling everyone Shyvana shts all over Renekton mid-late game with 2-3 items and they all laughed hahahaha idiots. But if she would act like vi there would be a problem because Shyvana is essentially tankier than Vi with higher base stats and per level and not to mention dragon form. And essentially does MORE damage than Vi as well over a long period of time. So it would be a better version of Vi and there is a reason why Vi been nerf to the ground.

Ahh I do get kited now that you mention :) Bad players are bad...

Then what about the fact that she deals a lot of ad damage on top of the magic damage from her w? Coincidentally I play only zac and shyvana now. I don't think Zac can replace Shyvana in every comp which means each have a niche which means Shyvana is probably closer to fine than you think.

Oh and I found this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRUTlAU5JYk

I like the Jarvan-ish first idea.

I like the idea. In fact, I don't think you even need to cut the range in half when she's targeting someone, as her ult is already balanced around being able to carry the enemy champion a pretty long distance.

Here's another idea: allow her ult to be reactivated at the cost of fury to dash again (though with less damage). Give it a 12/10/8 second cooldown.
