Gnar's new state.

I played a metric shitload of Gnar before 4.20, and he was my favorite champion since he was released. He was so great at early lane harassment and was able to secure kills on those who would be too aggressive. I loved the quintessential lane-bully style.

And then the 4.20 nation attacked. He's awful. Genuinely awful. A large majority of his late game power came from items as opposed to scaling. He funded his item purchases by farming and killing those who tried to come near; particularly the latter. I believe Riot's across-the-board nerfs to Gnar's entire early game was necessary, but I think they went a little overboard. He deals little to no damage before level 5, and by then the enemy has caught up. This removes nearly all of his killing power early game, and, as such, removes most of his gold generation for damage items. In removing the gold he gets from kills, he gets far fewer damage items than before. His buffs to scaling into late game do not balance with the fewer damage items.

While I, as I stated before, believe some form of nerfing was necessary for Gnar, I believe that Riot should consider undoing some of the damage to his kit. Also, I need a new lane bully to play. Recommendations?

I believe people simply lacked the experience to play against him since he hasn't been popular for too long. I've often seen people ignore my rage gauge and payed the price for it.#

The new Gnar is just horribly overnerfed, especially as I predicted. He's easy food for anything in lane. GG, another complex champion which does not even have have an ultimate during 90% of his livetime which is easily stomped by a no-brainer like Riven. The crybabies got what they want.

Ohh what a shocker, they made it so that if you want to deal damage, you have to build damage. Which isn't a bad thing.

In case you ever played Gnar instead of just crying about him you would have noticed that mini Gnar has some of the worst base stas ingame - even before the nerfs. It's just hilarious how people are too stupid to read a gauge and go all in before he transforms, he can use his ult during a 12s timeframe every 2 minutes. If you loose your lane against that you're just bad.

Whiel I liked playing Gnar pre-gutting I also like playing against him. I destroyed the last Gnar I fought (pre-gutting) 6 to 0 in lane (w. Lissandra).

He's predictable like Draven has has 3 abilities during 90%, I still wonder how bad people had to be to loose against him.

Yes shitty stats that are easily compensated for by being ranged, a decently powerful jump + a powerful MS steroid, having a super long range poke skill that has a strong slow and a low cooldown, and overall enormous base damage. Oh and then every once in awhile he gains massive HP, stats, and CC.

If you couldn't abuse how powerful gnar was, then you're just bad. See, I can say that too.

Much sample size.

Because challenger players are bad. Gotcha.

And then he loses every single "overpowered" feature that you just listed.

Which was easily compensated for by EVERYTHING else I listed. Like all you had to do on gnar to make mini-gnar not crap, was pretty much build tank. It doesn't matter how shitty your base defenses are if you just build tank on top of that especially if you have stupidly high base damage.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that everyone thinks mega-gnar was OP, when it was mini-gnar that was the real problem.

I did, and I still will if I ever play him again. He's still awful now.

The problem was you didnt have to build damage with gnar. Theres a reason he was nearly 100% pick ban in challenger/pro level scrims. Build pure tank and still outdamage nearly everyone.

I build Gnar almost full tank, have you tried that?

But then where's snowballing kill-everything late game damage that I've come to love?

but then where is ap yi ap yi shouldnt exist figure the rest

Good. Now maybe he won't be perma banned in high level play.

literally just build damage and then tank and compare the damage. It's a pretty big difference.
