I dunno about Ekko but Talon mid is extremely punishing to most mages once you learn him.

Talon, way better. Ekko is a bit weak if u build him as an assassin, it CAN work against certain match ups but you will be very squishy and mostly using your ult to survive. Talon has only 1 Bad match up, and thats Diana . He pretty much pwns everyone else and extremely snowbally. Get mah boi Talon

Talon is stronger if you want to play them both mid and top.

His burst is unrivaled in the game. He counters his assassin peers except for Diana and Fizz because he can simply kill them before they can kill him.

However, his laning phase is not the best. It feels like you are being cyber bullied when you lane against a ranged champion, and Talon lacks the poke that many assassins have.

Ekko takes more skill to play, but it can potentially be more rewarding. He is a lot safer than Talon as well, but he will struggle with 100-0ing an enemy carry with one combo.

Assassin? Talon, I guess.

But you can build Ekko as a bruiser (especially for top lane) if you'd like.
