Eye of Equinox - Please Forward to Riot Xypherous

So I wanted to respond in the comments of one of his posts ( http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-feedback/MGd4OBay-pbe-support-itemization-notes-622-redemption-knights-vow-ardent-censer-crucible-locket ) but its in the PBE section and I don't have a PBE account to post.

Anyhow, I think Eye of Equinox needs a better buff than +100% more health regen and here is why.

  1. Health regen is best in laning phase. While supports often rush sightstone rushing the upgrade is certainly optional, especially across various ELOs. Laning phase may well be ending when this item is purchased therefore downgrading the value of the health regen. Yes, health regen is valuable in sieges but your primary goal is to survive teamfights.

  2. With new powerful actives (see Redemption) and other activate items being cheaper (Mikaels, etc.) the item CDR from Ruby Sightstone will be more highly valued.

  3. Face of the Mountain has a really cool new buff which will also steer people away from Eye of the Equinox.

CDR, Armor, or increased max health are probably a better buff to Eye of the Equinox to make it attractive. As a support main, I don't feel like Eye of the Equinox is in any better standing (actually worse standing) when compared to the alternative Face of the Mountain + Ruby Sightstone.

Yeah, but item 2303 really doesn't help support tanks at all because the only stat it gives is health, same as item 2045 .

You can't add more stats to it, it's already incredibly gold efficient. It has 1933 gold worth of stats with the new buff and it only costs 2200, and then you get gold and wards from it as well.

I guess the question becomes: why do you want the item to be worth buying? What niche does it fulfill that makes it worth picking up over item 3401 ?
