I just started this game not too long ago, and its amazing. Not amazing for a free game, amazing in general. Every champion is diverse and there are fun events. But I can't get over the fact that I'm getting chests, getting these epic and legendary skins and I just have to stare at them. I know Riot needs money to function as a business, and there's nothing wrong with that. I mean, I've already spent money on the game to earn a champion I really liked playing when I was in aram. But, OE is impossible and you can't even buy it. Skins just give such a visual variety to the game and disenchanting a 1350oe skin into just 270oe is just not worth it. What's the point of putting effort into all these skins and events if you're preventing almost all chance to get even just one?

It's incentive to actually spend money on the game instead of getting everything for free from Hextech Crafting. You could purchase boxes and try your luck with the randomized loot, but it's easier and generally more efficient to just purchase RP directly.

The only way to get OE is to buy chests (or hope you get lucky in an event) and get shards to disenchant. Even then, you don't get a lot of OE from disenchanting anyway and your chests can always contain bullshit like emotes.

It's a catch 22. You have to buy into Hextech Crafting to get OE and will probably end up spending more on chests than outright buying the skin.

I personally find myself disenchanting about 75% of my skins, and only taking the ones I really want, on Champs I play. I only have 9 skins, but because of this style I ho into half my games looking fly as on of my favourite champs. It won’t take as long as you expect to get that OE; just try new champs from time to time and get that S-!
