Why is matchmaking so broken?

So frustrated with solo queue right now. I do not understand how matchmaking is such trash. I work my butt off to get to Gold this season and I did it in a couple months. Once I got there, my teams started being handpicked from the garbage bin behind Burger King. I get like 1 good team every 3 or 4 games and it's been impossible to climb. I do well in lane 95% of the time and then another lane gets the balls fed out of it so it's near impossible to carry games as a mid laner. Then, whenever I play support, my adc doesn't understand zoning OR last hitting. It's quite sad honestly and pretty ridiculous. I am literally scared to play ranked because I NEVER know what to expect from a team. Anyone else having this issue?

Just remember: The other teams are no better than yours, on average.

I know that the rankings are similar but it just seems my team is always worse overall. Either they have bad laning phases or they have no idea about prioritizing objectives. It just gets frustrating.
