Yasuo Wind Wall vs. Vel'Koz

So, Yasuo's wall can block Vel's Q, which is reasonable, it is clearly a projectile. What I don't understand is why it blocks his E, which functions similarly to a Cho'Gath Rupture. It is an instant cast with a delayed damage output, and if placed behind the windwall, it simply never delivers the damage. I can almost see why Vel'Koz's W is blocked, since it starts at one point and extends to another, effectively giving it movement. But it's a crack in the ground. Not a projectile. Any thoughts on those two abilities being blocked? Generic rants about Yasuo are welcome as well, since those are always fun to read.

Edit: I'm blind and oblivious as all hell and somehow never noticed that Vel'Koz throws out purple crap for his E. And while I understand that because of how the W animation and effect is, it technically counts as one, but really Vel is creating a crack in the ground and thus I maintain that Yasuo blocking it is stupid.

You can see Vel'koz sends out a projectile very clearly here http://puu.sh/xF4rO/1ae182799e.jpg

You'd have to be blind to not notice this everytime he casts it 2:35 https://youtu.be/IWA2C8tUG-g?t=155

Then I guess I'm blind.

It's not that easy to spot since you have to pay attention to the landing zone.

If you're the Vel'koz player then you should be noticing a purple line leaving his tendrils towards the blast zone

I did spot them since the reveal (and those are even more visibile in the Arclight skin) but I can understand how it can go unnoticed.

It's really not hard to tell if something is a projectile. Is it an auto attack of ability that doesn't apply its effect along the entirety of it's trajectory? If yes, it's a projectile. Yasuo's windwall blocks all projectiles barring turret shots. Does your ability apply it's effect along the entirety of it's trajectory such as Vel'koz or Lux ults? Then it's not a projectile and won't be blocked. Vel's E very clearly flies through the air before landing at it's desination and is therefore a projectile.
