Why do you buff new champions to boost sales?

Sett for example, can run every lane and do anything. You can clearly see how broken his W is with the shield to true damage. The man can adc and still carry a game. People even Sett support and they win lane. Player skill isn't the cause of this. I truly believe it is nothing more than to drive sales for league of legends. They clearly have over 200 champions and could easily get damage numbers and scaling from another bruiser but they don't. They also beta test the crap out of the champion before releasing him so there is no excuse. I have been playing this game for 9 years and have seen this so many times. I am surprised no one has brought this up and called out riot for it. I get at first people won't know how to counter him. But even if they did would it really matter? It's a sad day when riot only cares for the #1 pro players and care about their input. I know this isn't the first complaint about Sett and riot could of released a hotfix for this. But as long as people keep buying him then they will let it stay. I just can't stand the fact the when 1 character is broken like this they just let it go until one of the pro's get rocked by it then they are like whoa this is severely broken we need to fix this.. Sorry if it seemed like I'm going on a rant. I'm just sick of the adc or support sett's carrying a game.

They dont, players just ignore the clear weaknesses of champions and listen to people on youtube who are literally paid to overreact and clickbait you.

Do you honestly think people like red mercy titling their videos "Omg new jungler what is riot thinking 1v5 omegalul" is a real, objective video with an objective look at a champion? Or a cherrypicked video with them playing against players in the bottom tier of skill brackets hard feeding them all game?

because he has clear counterplay that 99% of the people in the game ignore. Sett does is job wonderfully. He's like prenerf ADCs, He does his job and people want him nerfed for it.. he's a juggernaut thats not spose to die like the bruisers.. Late game his W does as much damage as a Darius Q if u dont tank the middle of it (Whoeven gets hit by it? its literally 1 click and ur out of the way unless he flashes to line it up or you get CC'd by his team)

You will see tons of these videos out on youtube.Which all of them show exactly how Sett wins everytime. He loses straight up until that overpowered W. Then boom all that true damage. even if he didn't line it up they are still taking massive damage.

To answer your question, well yeah, they've been doing it for ages, they just finally ran out of shit excuses. Secondly, however, sett isnt op. The only thing he needs tweaked on is his regen from his passive, and the amount of true dmg on his w, either flat, or ratio. The shield is fine, yeah it can be massive, but it immediately starts to deteriorate, i think it only lasts 2 seconds if i remember right, and not even the full shield. Hes supposed to be a strong fighter, the shield is the only really good thing he has in fights, or atleast that keeps him alive for longer in said fights. You may say what about the e, and id agree with you, but it has a delay like thresh e, so if he immediately gets ccd or focused, chances are he wont be able to get it off, and will immediately die. Same goes for his ult, you can get it off, but if you dont have your w up or are fast enough pressing it, chances are you just kamikaze instead of RKO.

TLDR, yes to your balance based on skins theory, and no sett isnt op, just a bit overtuned.

Edit: To add to what the other dude was saying, yes it has a ton of counterplay, so i wouldent even necessarily gut the true dmg, just maybe nerf the base dmg again, all you gotta do is walk away. The only thing i see going on, or atleast what used to happen is not being able to move at all because the ult slow was 1.5 seconds and pretty much guaranteed a hit, but now that its one second, he would have to use it instantly and deal less true dmg if he really wanted to hit it, unless you facetank it, in which case thats your own fault.
