2 unranked players in ranked game

I don't understand how this is considered a competitive experience when this stuff happens all the time. Especially when It's the first game I have to play after hitting 0 lp and I get demoted because one of these players it was their first ranked game ever and the other was their 3rd. Seriously how is this even considered a "ranked" system when you can get completely one sided games like this??
