@Meddler Thoughts about Quinn as a champion?
Good evening and Happy New Year,
I would like to ask you what are your thoughts about Quinn on her current state, not powerwise but more on the gameplay. Are you satisfied about her gameplay? Do you think that you could have done more with her rework or you think she is perfect that way?
You stated that Quinn is the roamer marksman and her rework focused around that idea. I truly believe that part of the plan was exceptionally done. Her roaming, her pressure on the map is something very unique on the game. Although, before her rework she was also a unique character or I should saythat Quinn was part of a "duo champion". Now it's just Quinn. What I mean is that Valor feels like just an animation. You could change all her spells with different animations and nobody would even realize that Quinn changed. _For example: Her passive is almost the same as Fiora. Her experience in guerilla warfare makes her locate the eney's vulnerable spots or a drone scans the enemy's vulnerable spots. Q could be throwing a hextech smoke grenade. W could be a drone or something scanning the area around her. E could be just Quinn leaving a small bug detonator in the enemy's armor and R could a drone connecting into her suit creating a jetpack. _
Now you would say: but that comparison is stupid cause you can do it on any champion. Although, Valor isn't like Annie's Tibbers that comes enraged onto you trying to slap the soul out you or like Ivern's Daisy that high fives Ivern when she comes in the fight for help or Kled's Skaarl. They are real and they are a threat to you, your team and you have to think and play around them.
You thought about Quinn as a roaming marksman and that is fine but what about Valor? Aren't they fighting together? Where is their teamwork? Teamwork needs strong bonds and trust. Thats the main characteristic of their theme. They work together, believing in other's abilities to accomplish their marks.
There is so much potential about this Champion or "Champion that is a "two part of a Champion". Quinn and Valor could be the first champion in the game that can have a gameplay synergy (something will happen if Valor does this and Quinn will do something else if Valor acts like this, like a combo. Interrupting this combo will cause problems for Valor and Quinn and if things dont go well, that means that their teamwork need improvements).
Quinn and Valor rely on their teamwork, although, there is no REAL teamwork in the current game play, just animations. Quinn orders Valor to attack--Quinn throws a plastic Valor figurine causing the enemy to lose his ability to see from the shock he underwent. Its just the same thing.
So this is very important. What if you reworked Quinn and Valor to work together in the game, rely on their teamwork and at the same time be the roaming champion you wanted at the beginning and which is fantastic. What if Valor had a life bar that could fight alongside Quinn and when he is damaged enough he should stay up high in the sky resting (showing his shadow alongside Quinn) and leaving Quinn to deal with the enemy herself with some new abilities leading to a more evasive gameplay wating for Valor to be ready again but generally not as powerful when she is with her companion. That would make her more balanced, leaving Quinn vulnerable when she is alone, so her enemies can punish her.
I have some ideas about their gameplay teamwork. I could share them with you if you are interested of course.
Anyway, Happy New Year again!!
