Ziggs Siege Support ... Viable or just troll?

Playing ziggs in bot lane as a support always keeps me in flames by my teammates . i do understand that ziggs neither buff our adc nor debuff their adc but the poking potential of ziggs with his passive and 'Q' along with thunderlords always seems to make their adc zoned out and gives a nice advantage to our team . Even with mana issues with ziggs early which can be sort out by taking as the first items. His siege abilities to takedown objectives and his ult on teamfights is eminent. And even if getting ganked ziggs 'W' & 'E' seems to safegaurd the adc and sometime even turn the table around.[slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

I looked at Ziggs before. Given that two of his abilities are zone control and the third is poke, I think he's perfectly legitimate as a support. And then there's that Ultimate. The only problem I see with Ziggs is that he's not as reliable. If you have a team that wants to siege and kite back, awesome. If you have an engage team, as so many solo queue teams are based around, I think he'd struggle to contribute aside from his ult.

Btw I main Teemo support on my alt account. I've also done Pantheon, Shaco, Swain, Ryze, and more. And though I may occasionally hear something from my teammates as the game is starting, if you learn your character and do well nobody will say anything as the game goes on. Be warned that if your ADC views it as a troll pick though, they may play super passive and give up all lane pressure because they have you as a support. Then when you inevitably lose lane they will say it's because of your pick. And since you're the one play off meta the rest of the team will agree with him, no matter how bad he is doing.

kinda troll... I tried playing Ziggs support many times and it's just too vulnerable for the lane

It is not troll because even if you play nunu smite support you won't get banned

Ziggs has insane range on his Q, and poking from that kind of distance is enough to drive anyone out lane. I think only Braum is capable of actively dealing with Ziggs support, and everyone else will struggle. I say go for it. Hell, I say take anyone support so long as you take a gold income item, a sightstone, and try not to steal CS.

Eh.... I've seen worse.

He offers zone control, and I want to say that depending on your matchup and your ADC you can zone the enemy so far back they're not getting gold/XP, which helps for later in the game. Maxing Satchel Charge first gets some good turret damage early, which is nice.

I feel like the big trade off is if you fall behind, you're extremely reliant on your other lanes to do well because you have very few tools to help them out.

I don't think it's troll, it's just only suited for certain team comps. If I'm playing a tower taking ADC like Tristana or Caitlyn then Ziggs is great.

Ziggs doesn't have any stationary hard CC, which makes him a poor contender to Zyra, Brand, Vel'Koz, Lux, or even Xerath as a mage support.

If you're going Ziggs support anyways, I recommend using DFT and figuring out your runes to maximize early AP. Building The Dark Seal and Corrupting Potion (with a Refillable start) will hold you over sustain-wise and you might even be able to finish it into a Mejai's Soulstealer by the time you would sell the Cor.Pot.

I did that with a Tristana once. It's borderline I think, but way too strong to not do it.

I play Orianna support... Coin, Sightstone, Redemption and Locket, plus whatever else, max REWQ in that order just play defensively and give speed and shields to allies and then protect em from assassins with shield ult W, and items.

I think ziggs with tristana have good synergy cz of the kiting by ziggs and easy engage and disengage potential of both
