Best Mid Lane champions for the current meta, and builds for it

So what champions are best in the current meta, and what builds should be taken with them?

Currently I have been playing Ahri, Xerath, and Karthus a lot but i feel that there are champions that are a lot better for being played in the mid lane

Any thoughts on this?

I've had a lot of success playing Morgana into the current meta.

Zoe is obviously very popular right now.

Orianna is always good, but her mechanics take some practice.

Honestly, the midlane meta feels very flexible right now, as long as a champion has a bit of versatility and you have solid play on them, you should be fine. Basically the opposite of top.
