Everything about AUTOFILL

Hello everyone,

here, I created a board for Autofill and to share your opinions here in the comments.

Ok, 90% of League Community thinks that Autofill is reaaaally bad, especially for new players. Some people would wait if it's needed 10 minutes just to play their primary (or secondary) role. But, on the other side there are players that don't think about their role and just wanna play anyways.

So, I think that you agree with me about this, right? But can we, that don't wanna be autofilled, do something about it ? Ok, you play Support role and you really won't be autofilled, but if you play Midlane, well that's the problem now. Do you think that Autofill should be just option to check ?

If you don't check Autofill box, there is a chance of you being autofilled, but if you don't check it, you can't be autofilled and you are probably going to wait longer for that game.

I think that this is really good for players and there will be more fun games and less tilt, because someone will flame you if you play Support rly bad, but you are Jungle main and don't even want to play Support role.

Do you agree with me ? :D Tell me your opinions in comments below.

I think that would result in one of three scenarios. Since that change would be essentially removing a portion of potential support players from the queue, Riot would have to decide how to allocate the remaining support players. (I'm just ignoring other positions here since support is the best example)

  1. Teams consisting of players who are willing to get autofilled get a priority on support players. That way the queue time for players willing to get autofilled would stay the same, but the queue times for the no-autofill players would become abysmal. I'm talking about 20+ minutes (although that's just an uneducated guess), even longer for mid players.

  2. Teams consisting of players who are willing to get autofilled don't get a priority on support players. That way queue times for everyone increase, but not as bad as in scenario 1.

  3. The rate at which players get autofilled gets increased to make up for the lack of support players. This would result in queue times as of right now, maybe a bit longer. However, Riot has done an amazing job at improving matchmaking, as detailed here (I really recommend reading this article). This would just revert some of those changes and potentially reintroduce those days where queuing mid/support will give you support 75% of the time.

Basically, the first scenario would not be practicable, the other two would screw over players who are willing to autofill occasionally, which is unacceptable in my opinion.

Auto fill is necessary because people just don't want to be flexible. If someone keeps getting autofilled into support then they should learn to support or at least hav a basic grasp on that and every role so they won't be a detriment to their team. It's why I'm a top/jungle main but hav three support champs I can play well enough in case I get autofilled.

Autofill is bad and in most cases it costs you the game, i think it should not be an option at all, you play the game to have fun and you choose a role you enjoy, some people enjoy one role where others enjoy multiple it's just a matter of choice, for example i don't want to be autofilled into support i just simply do not enjoy that role it's boring for me i don't feel like trying at all when i'm autofilled into support because of that if i ever get autofilled i dodge, i prevent myself and my team from having a bad game, however it gets frustrating when someone else is autofilled on your team and they just go with it and proceed to do poorly, that's bad experience and low quality game design.
