Percent Health quints vs Flat Health quints

Ik rune pages usually require specific runes to the champions you use them for but I'm just making a few basic pages like AP, AD, Tank, and maybe ADC I just dont want to spend all my ip right now on rune pages i just got the 2 for 6300 so im gonna stick with this for now So my question is for a basic tank rune page in your opinion would the % health or the flat health be better so far its pointing to the latter some say % isnt even worth it if you have 3600 health but i think it was an old post so idk if it holds true also idk what to do for marks on the tank page hybrid penetration maybe? I see people usually do armor

Ideally you want multiple pages for any role, since not all champions work just as well with the same runes. I personally have a percentage health page, a scaling/flat armor mix page, and a scaling armor/mr page. I don't know if anyone can give you a perfect answer unless you tell us what sort of tanks you plan on playing.

As for the difference between percentage and flat health it all depends on your early game. Do you need a little more health to help you with a weak early game, or can you get away with less in order to have more later? Try to be as objective as possible when answering this question.

I know a lot of us hate Mathematics but lets apply it here: 3 flat HP quints give you 78 health. 3 1.5% HP quints give you 4.5% max HP

So the % quints only start becoming effective once your health is equal to or higher than 1734.

As a true tank that has no problem gaining HP for example a Sion who will probably end up having up to 4000+ HP the % quints are very effective because you will be getting 180HP rather than 78.

This all comes down to your playstyle! Do you need to have a lot of HP in the early game? Flat quints is probably the way to go. Are you shooting to be a mega HP tank late game like mundo? % Quints are viable. But for a tank what I would personally recommend is to stick to flat MR/Armor quints depending on your matchup. Or invest in CDR quints if you're playing someone like nasus.

The quints are very versatile. If you can afford it experiment with what you like eventually you'll get what you like.

But honestly flat HP is superior to %HP just because runes help out so much in the early game that 200~ HP you get late game is not worth as much as 78 at level 1.

Cheers.

tanks like ali, nautilus, braum, you know tanky supports just a basic tank page that will give me some better starting tank stats i think i might just go for flat health and armor marks but idk

I have a page with flat armor quints, flat health seals, flat MR glyphs and AD marks that I use for some tanks and fighters, with % health runes it's going to depend on your build path, Mundo for example would absolutely want those.
