Queue Dodging In Ranked

I have a philosophy about queue dodging. In ranked, I would rather lose 3 lp and wait five minutes to rejoin queue than lose 20 lp from a loss and waste 30 minutes of my time. Therefore, whenever I see a Veigar jungle in ranked, I dodge. I would gladly choose the lesser of two evils, however, why should i have to pick between two evils? I did nothing wrong, so why should I suffer?

I suggest having a vote kick, where if ALL members of the team (minus the accused) vote to kick the jungle veigar, he/she is removed from the queue and suffer the same penalties that I would if left.

I know this has potential for abuse therefore I also propose a counter measure: A player may only cast one vote every ten ranked games played. This way, no one would risk flippantly wasting their vote in case they legitimately needed it in one of their future ten games (because they would not be able to provide one of the four votes needed to kick the troll). Since a unanimous vote is needed, only one person is needed to prevent a wrongful removal (this may need to be modified to account for duo queuing).

Obviously this system is not perfect, however I think something along these lines would greatly benefit the game.

I like everything except the person getting kicked suffering lp losses. If they are good at something like jungle Twitch the others have the right to not play that game, but twitch should not be punished for trying something no every approves of. This would just make the meta even tighter and no one would play niche champs in fear of getting kicked.

Agreed. If anything, it should count as a Tribunal offense if the player gets kicked enough times. Riot can look at the chat logs and if "fine, I'm feeding as jungle Anivia" and the player gets kicked afterword, they can get banned. It doesn't have any immediate results to players that do get caught in the crossfire for breaking the meta, and it will help get the trolls out of ranked.

This seems like a good idea. UNTILL you realise that people will kick someone for going something only slightly controversial. Like Diana jungle, or Anivia Support.

Things that can and often do good. But arent seen by the community as top picks for whatever reason.

ALSO DUO'S BECAUSE THEY WILL KICK SOMEONE FOR SHITS AND GIGGLES!

everything u say has been said since season 1. and is too logical. therefor it will not be implemented. u cannot stop the RIOT. u cannot defy the RITO. u can only wait for a much better game that isn't dota2... cuz dota2 is in fact better

Sadly, Dota2 is a better game in many ways. I have no clue why Riot doesn't make more of an effort to improve the things people continuously complain about.

I'm sure DotA2 probably is better in specific ways, but there are ways that LoL is better as well. I personally have never played DotA2, but I know for certain that it is not perfect, or else everybody would be playing it and there would be no updates to the game since it would already be in the most perfect state possible. Riot has a lot on their plate at every second of the day; champs need buffs/nerfs, textures need rebalancing, the gameplay itself needs updating to be kept fresh, etc. The current system in play isn't near perfcect, but it works without causing too many problems, which might result in adding an option for a group of people to ruin someone else's day for either a good reason or a bad reason. If Riot wants it changed, they will do it at some point, and if they don't want it changed, they probably have a good reason. If you disagree with their reasons, then you can go play DotA2 or Hero's of the Storm or some shit that better suits your needs. But if you like other things about LoL that you know you will miss in the other games similar to it, then you'll just have to hope that Riot agrees with your ideas and wait until they change the system. Personally I agree that it needs a change, and I think it may have some problems with abuse, which is why I think that instead of voting to kick the person, there should be a vote to just cancel the lobby, as there are instances where two people don't communicate properly on a role and they both choose a mid/top/bot/jungle champ thinking the other person will do the opposite, or they just misclick the wrong champ. Either way, I hope these are changed, but I know Riot has a ton of shit to deal with that we probably don't even comprehend. They are only human, after all.

First off, no one said that DotA2 was perfect. Secondly, don't talk negatively about a game you have never tried or played. Try the game and you will see what things Riot and League of Legends could greatly improve on.

It'd be nice to have. Waiting 30 minutes because I dodged a trist top and an urgot jungle previously really sucks. Yeah, I get it, maybe it can work. Maybe some people are great at. Hell, maybe someone is even in challenger maining it. But you aren't them. You are in silver. You are going to suck. Even more than if you played something more traditional.

Well it's also versus a Silver so they have the element of "WTF HOW DO I DEAL WITH THIS AS [Champion]" Also assuming everyone in Silver cannot play any non-meta champs is rude. Don't assume everyone is just "oh huh I'll first try Panth in the jungle in ranked or Lulu top in ranked or Nid top in ranked."

I'll assume whatever I want when my LP is on the line. I dodge picks like that because I've lost games and LP time and again because silvers cannot play conventional picks properly half the time, much less unconventional. I'm not being rude...I'm sure I'd fail at Urgot jungle too. I'm just being realistic.

I would support the idea of a vote to kick option. However, I feel it should be allowed every queue versus to every 10 ranked games. I'm not sure how much this would improve League's player pool, but I'm certain it would help when certain players instalock an already called lane.

o your one of the people who thinks by calling a lane its automatically theirs...

I'd probably get kicked out of a lot of lobbiesfor playing brand support, yet I have a 63% win rate and 4.0 KDA with him.

But I agree that something needs to be done about the revive cleanse jungle luxes who are obviously trying to force a dodge because they didnt get the role they wanted

What happens when you dodge a "revive cleanse jungle Lux" (RCJL):

-- The RCJL gets to re-queue immediately -- The dodger has to wait and lose LP -- The RCJL can ruin another game immediately, forcing another player to dodge and triggering the event again

What happens when you don't dodge, forcing the game to happen with the RCJL:

-- The RCJL gets as many as 9 reports against him, sending him to the Tribunal for a sure-fire Punish vote -- The dodger does not have to wait out the dodge penalty -- The entire team gets to flame and harass the RCJL for trolling for 20-40 minutes -- The RCJL and entire rest of the team lose LP -- The RCJL is stuck in the match for however long it lasts and can't ruin anyone else's day for that time

The moral of the story? Be brave. Eat your IP loss (and maybe the other team will have a troll too and you won't lose). Spend your time, shield your fellow summoners from the RCJLs, and let the Tribunal do its job.

I have the opposite sentiment. Seeing a jungle Veigar makes me insanely curious as to how that's going to work, and I figure actually testing something, through someone else's endeavors, is far better than just therocrafting and speculation.

Worse case scenario you loose some LP. Best case scenario - your team gets massive bragging rights, you get new insight into how an off-pick can work, an entertaining replay, and a solid story.

Also - vote-kicking someone for an odd pick is, at it's heart, a tool to enforce the meta with an iron fist.

Which gets really nasty, really fast when you consider the gray areas. Also pretty bad when you consider the meta stifles a considerable amount of creativity as-is. There's no real reason everyone in worlds needed to stick to the same ~17 champions. One of SSW's big strengths is they actually had a much bigger pool of picks than those ~17. Enforce who can play what where even harder and you strangle creativity even more, enforcing the unofficial rule-set of the meta even harder.

Which means boring games. Probably also means that you'll get your ass handed to you in the off-chance an off-pick actually makes it through, as they'll have a solid 20+ games under their belt on how to deal with your pick.

Consider Blitzcrank, Fizz, and Wukong were considered top-lanners for the meta. Imagine the horror of running into support crank, mid-fizz, or jungle Wukong for the first time.
