Why we cannot have ability draft.

this is a response to a post asking riot to create ability draft. Its not the dificulty to code, dota 2 did it 3 years ago. the reason we cannot have this gamemode in league of legends is because the skins would be disabled in the gamemode. Unlike URF there is nothing for riot to profit from in this gamemode.

People buy skins for everyday use. If they like a champ, they'd still be incentivized to get a skin, even if it didn't work in a single RGM.

i think the actual problem are the animations.

but they could just use already available animations that exist on the champs for specific kinds of abilities (like a animation that looks best for skillshots). skins wouldn't be a problem too.

it wouldn't look too great in the end, but whatever, this would be a very fun gamemode. maybe even on the level of URF.

i simply don't see any problems in making this mode, Nexus Siege was probably way harder to create.

some abilities would have to be excluded (like Azirs Q and E), but most would work.

Riot won't make something like that untill the Legacy Client is completely phased out worldwide, as they don't want to spend the extra resources coding for the old client.

In the april fools day vid it showed iBlitz using jinx R and you could see some particles. It seems like some particles on skins are part of an ability, and some simply part of an animation. Speaking of which, unique animations would also work.

I think for ability draft they need to refactor all the code beneath the game. I don't know how spells are coded currently, but believe you can't just take spells without the character it attached to.
