So I had a crazy thought. When 
has Massacre active, maybe when he gets a kill or assist, it's duration is increase by a couple seconds? Or maybe while Massacre is active and he gets a kill or assist, his Q resets, and he can continue on this massacre? I love to play Aatrox, such a shame he's not in the best position.
Or when Massacre is active W only takes 2 auto's to proc instead of 3. this would make him playable until his rework comes.
After 300 games with Aatrox, i started to give up on him. Yes, he is a badass in the laning phase when gets ahead. But, if i were to play against Aatrox, with almost any champions, that would never happen. If you know him well, he is the easiest champion to counter in this game.

Almost any thread I've ever seen asking for a champ in a "not abysmal" state has only ever been met with people flaming the OP.
I was pleasantly surprised to see this isn't the case for this post, I personally like the idea from the standpoint of "flavor" as something to at least bolster the character and gear him towards what he's supposed to represent. Giving massacre a longer duration really adds to the idea behind the ability, the q suggestion might put him slightly over the edge (but I love the idea.)
Still waiting on them to rework him and make him actually fit his lore though, an ult like Kindred has would have been oh so fitting.
What about... giving him Sion's old ult?

It just seems to fit his lore/theme rather well.
I actually like the second idea.
Honestly I feel that Aatrox is in an okay place if built right. If you build Devourer, Titanic Hydra, and bork, your attack speed and damage is good. You then get spirit visage Randuins and either tabi or mercs depending on the team comp and hard cc available to the enemy team. You are mostly a drain tank and bruiser, with your specialty being your cc and free stats from blood well and massacre
I think he is fine. I am kinda an Aatrox Main, and i destroyed so many top laners. I think his teamfight needs some small buffs, but please not his lane he can be so toxic.
