Really trying my hardest to find the joy in playing this game anymore
People constantly complain on here about changes made to the game and most of the time I disagree with the popular opinion. I have been around since season 2 and maybe I was too bad at the game to realize what was broken and annoying but at least I had fun playing. I got many friends into this game and we would spend all of our free time playing. I even met my partner on here who recently quit as well.
I used to main adc but recently switched to "supporting" with brand/zyra/fiddle. I enjoyed outplaying opponents and getting outplayed by mechanics. It's not fun getting killed in 1-2 seconds and getting kills in 1-2 seconds. Where's the skill in that? The strategy part of the game is no longer there for me. It's not fun getting getting dove, having rift take 2 turrets, having the game be decided by 10 mins or having to pick or ban whats broken. Does anyone remember when you could ban your lane's counter and it wasn't mandatory to ban 10 specific champs/hope the enemy team banned them too?
Riot makes so many changes and for what? For the game to feel the exact same every match? No one plays anything different or bans anything different or takes different runes or does anything impressive anymore. For all the effort you have to put in to keep up with this game, I don't think its worth it anymore. If the changes are to attract new players, how do they learn and stick with this game when change happens so often? If I had just started playing and the role I spent time looking up builds and watching gameplay vids on youtube for became irrelevant overnight, I wouldn't be here. I have been holding on for so long because league has so much sentimental value to me, but why should I play a game or invest my time in something so stressful and disappointing? I feel like I should take a break but what will I even come back to at that point? I'm not interested in relearning champs I spent years practicing and I'm not interested in playing league like a free for all.
