Are you satisfied with how balancing is being handled?
I was thinking of adding in a poll but thought of that yes or no is to cut and dry so instead discuss our opinions on how we feel about how its all being handled. These are the key points that i feel should be addressed
-
Time: How long does it take for a champion to get recognized as an issue be it good or bad? How long before anything is actually done?
-
Who and Why: Why does x receive a nerf while y gets a buff and z is left the same? A clear reason should come along with each one.
-
Severity: From the full guttings to the gentle love taps. To the slight buff to the "omg rito u broke X champion".
-
Accuracy: Did it accomplish anything? Im sure there was or is more that i could add in so feel free to add in any extra ones in your response on how you feel about the balancing. Ill write up my thoughts about it all using those three points down below as an example.
Some champions seem to fly by Riots radar undetected but for others that didn't seem to be a real issue are put on their watch list the moment they even dream about being stronger. The time for champions to be put into place is odd to like previously stated some champions are allowed to be dominant for quite some time while others dying backstage for some spot light. Ex: The whole sejuani'd deal. "We tend to let champions like Sejuani (who thrived close to a 60% win rate for a while) level off after we nerf them in some way. We're not intending to leave them to die and be forgotten, but in the interest of keeping the live environment fresh, we don't want to rebound and throw more buffs at her, since she only just stopped being picked so much. She'll be back -- we're just trying to let other champions have some time in the spotlight! -Riot Time Wizard My example being Fiora and Swain. Fiora so far has been the talk of the board for some time now since and it hasn't been just recently its been awhile. Recently she received a nerf of -4 armor. How sever is that? Not really as that isnt the problem with her. Tjhe problem stems from well... everything else she has. True damage, high mobility ( dash that can be reset by 60% and MS boosts), AS boost and free crit, Slow and AS slow / Stun, lastly an AOE heal. Any of these could have been touched on... but -4 armor boom done next! Swain, the immobile drain tank. Brings 2 single target spells, 1 slow and 1 damage amp, aoe root and a damage / healing toggle ult that increases his mana usage. What has happened to Swain as of recently... A whole second was cut on his root duration his only spell to help him stick to league of mobility. How sever was this. Very as now Swain has less time to stick to his targets to actually do much. I think they were both wrongly nerfed as the nerfs didnt accomplish anything to either ones problem. Ive said already what they could have touched on fiora but instead went with an armor nerf and riot was done. Swain was that he synergized to well with DFT so they cut the duration of his utility spell... what? That doesnt make any sense at all. Thats just my example as of late on how i see balancing as it is, its a mess wrong champions are getting nerfed in the wrong place and same with the right champions, unmeaningful nerfs where it doesnt even bother them. Thats just my 2 cents on everything for now.
Balancing doesnt have to deal with champions soley, feel free to talk about other changes such as itemization, wards, towers, etc.
and such when they are ranked significantly higher than me, but I just attribute that to the fact that they're higher elo than me.
