Bronze For Life....

Afternoon all,

Just after some advice more than anything, and also wanting to vent some serious frustration. After playing league for nearly 3 years, I am into my 3rd ranked season, and yes placed bronze to try and crawl out. In my first season I was placed silver4 and managed to stay there which was quite a nice place to be, I tried to get to gold but could never do it due to lack of experience. My second season I was placed bronze 4 (like most people I seem to remember) and then battled to bronze 1/2, going back and fourth between 1,2,3.

Now, this season I was placed bronze5.. battled to bronze4 and now back in bronze5. My main gripe which is probably the same as everybody else's, is that I just cannot seem to get anywhere!! no matter how hard I try, which lane I play, whether it be my main lane or my second.. it makes no difference as I normally get placed with horrible players.

I desperately want to get to silver but, I am just finding it so hard? is it because my main is support? do I need a bigger pool of champs? should I try and play OP champs that can carry? I normally duo with a friend of mine who is a pretty good ad carry, we always hold our lane but end up losing lane because all other lanes have either fed or gone AFK.

I know I am a "bronze noob" but, I really feel that my skills aren't of a bronze player, I am just struggling to climb out of the elo.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Try a few games of 1 v 5 intermediate bots. It teaches you how to solo carry and win by yourself.

Support is extremely easy to carry from in bronze/silver. I would highly suggest you pick up the blitzcrank and spam that. It's one of the easiest possible champs to carry on at low Elo.

The issue you are struggling with is that you think you have silver skill but are in bronze and don't deserve to be there when in reality there's literally no difference in skill from bronze to silver. Now down in b4-5 you see some really special stuff as I have recently just taken an account from b5-s3 in a week. I saw some pretty comical stuff down there. I didn't however notice any difference in skill. They were all bad tbh.

Ward a ton. Like every chance you get have 2 control wards on you. Your first item should always be sightstone. Yes even on brand or zyra or malz. Use /mute all

Nothing anyone has to say to you in bronze is EVER worth hearing.

first and foremost: why are you NOT building redemption?

you need to work on your general play, your k/p (kill participation) is usually 50% or below, on a support you should be looking at 60%+ at the end of the game.

in the most recent loss you was 0/3/6 and your ADC was 11/4/5 with 242cs who was also the most fed player on your team and on equal footing with the enemy, with a higher k/p at 59%.

  • a few other games are very similar

  • your warding however is on the high-end of your tier, i would say concentrate less on warding and more on helping the team.

as thresh for example buy early mobi boots and roam, make yourself a pain in the ass for the enemy, get an early ward in the top side jungle and when you see the jungler farming be a confident dick and disrupt him, don't go for a kill and be sure to use plants to escape, and of course make sure either your later is with you or you know where the enemy lane is at all times.

------ objectives -----

  • your jungler is near? you have pushed the enemy out? forgot about CS, ping his ass to help you destroy the turret.

  • enemy are taking a drake? head to another lane and mirror there objective for a turret or at the least take the opportunity to clear out the enemy jungle or 3-man bank a lane.

my point with these two tips is to make you think about mirroring objectives, if your going to lose something why fight for it? why risk it? unless you know you can win the ensuing fight look at the map and push something else, take something else, whatever it may be, putting another later behind and yours ahead, counter juggling, tower, drake, herald (though he sucks right now for the effort).

with all that being said i still stand by if i was you i would

A) ward less, help more B) Die Less - means leaving a team mate to die? leave, its better a 1 for 0 than a 2 for 0. C) Ward tri/qaud paths - m assuming your warding the bushes mainly? sure thats good but try the tri and quaud paths, reason? you highlight 4 jungle paths instead of 1 or two and grant much more vision with a single ward. D) your ADC suck? - try to obviously not leave him out in the cold too much but pro other lanes **E) **mute all is your friend - seriously not reading makes you concentrate 100% more on YOUR game and you'll be surprised how much you will improve from this alone, pings are there, use them (goes for team too)

-- serious about getting better and climbing? watch your own replays, wins and losses, watch them all find your mistakes and fix them, identify advantages and plays missed and correct it, your ADC dies in lane? look to see how YOU could of stopped that death.

remember you are in control of yourself at all times but never anybody else so no point in flaming/talking about said persons play, ignore it, concentrate on YOUR game make sure you do YOUR best and what YOU think is right, not what tom dick or harry think.

  1. You main support. I find it's harder for a low elo player to carry out through the support role.
  2. You build alright usually so you probably aren't making as many good picks or pinging for objectives enough. It's on you to make game changing plays.
  3. Don't build BOTRK on Thresh
