PLEASE MAKE IT SO YOUR TEAMMATES CAN'T BAN CLAIMED PICKS!!!

It's all in the title really. I'm so tired of guys on your OWN TEAM banning your pick because they want you to dodge or just don't like what you've chosen for a lane. For example I've picked Riven to jg once and some guy banned her and straight up told me "You're not going to Riven jg" =O the audacity!? I mean even if it was something ridiculous why should your teammates be able to ban your pick. I thought the claiming was so that wouldn't be allowed to happen. There was another time I saw a guy do it to another guy and then told him "why don't you just dodge then". It was pretty obvious he just wanted the dude to dodge from the get-go. Idk I think it should be a standard thing that teammates are not allowed to ban once you've claimed. I know some of you have experienced or seen this yourselves. Any thoughts?

PS. Those are just two examples, I've seen it happen and had it happen to me sooo many times. But I just saw this dude tell the other dude to "just dodge then" and decided maybe I should get some people talking about this so Riot can take a look at it.

PS2. I get that some people may pick things with intention to troll, I've seen that happen enough times as well. But I don't think that should be decided by one guys ban pick and his/her judgement. If someone trolls then the team can report that person after the game. But usually people who do these bans ARE the trolls trying to get someone to dodge for them.

If you are 3rd, 4th or 5th pick. And you’re hovering akali. I’m banning because I don’t want to deal with that bullshit. Dodge if you’d like.

Unless you're a first pick, if you pick something that counters me in lane and I don't want to face, I'm gonna ban it even if you claimed it sorry

Ok so what I'm getting from the comments is that, Ranked players don't like the odds of letting the 4th and 5th pick wait for their picks in the off chance the enemy might pick it first. That pick potentially being something OP like a Zed or a Yas or a counter to their own picks.

I get that, but wouldn't it be nicer to coordinate with your teammates than banning their picks bc ure afraid to play against that champion? Like someone wants to play Yas and they're 4th or 5th, just ask 1st or 2nd pick to choose for them and then trade. Sure not everyone is gonna have Yas or a Skarner for that matter. But come on, I think dealing with dicks that ban to troll or to get you to dodge is way worse than being afraid to go against a Yasuo. I mean you can even ask that teammate, "dude ure like last pick and odds are Yas will get picked first, you mind if I ban?" I mean thats the way to do it. I feel like a lot of people are abusing the banning system right now.

Yeah it sucks when that happens. If it's ranked, I can kind of understand, even though I don't take part in ranked, but I can imagine the frustration: you're trying to climb, and then you see Riven jungle lock in (sigh). It can be good, I know, but it seems to go either great, or shit and they don't wanna risk it.

If you're playing normals, then simply don't claim - it's a big reason that I don't play draft, because I've claimed legit junglers, like Yi or Rammus, and they go and ban it. In a lot of cases, it's just little snotty delusional kids thinking that bans give them some kind of 'power'.

Only other option is play blind pick.

I can tell you now that Riot will never implement something that prevents your teammates from banning your picks.

I have to disagree.

If you are 4th pic and choose Yas, I'm banning it. Why? The odds of the enemy team getting that pick and ruining the game fully exists. I tend to ban the same cheap, difficult to deal with hyper carries all the time.

Yas for example is one of the highest bans for me. One kill on yas can throw the damn game.

You're supposed to know how to play more than 1-2 champions anyway. There are bot games and normals where you can instant lock your favorite champion. Draft is what draft is.

Maybe you like playing Pyke but maybe lots of other people just don't want the risk of having to deal with it.

Not to mention maybe your " pick " is the same one who made the said player lose their last match. Either because the enemy got fed and dominated, or some player on their team chose them and fed hard.

When Neeko is released, I'm perma banning her for the entirety of the patch unless someone else on my team does first. Why should players suffer people trying out the new champion in ranked just because someone hovered it?
