Ekko is Amazing

I think the champ is well balanced. A lot of people are complaining about how his ult doesn't have a mana cost for it, similar to other champs that don't like tryndamere. He is easy to kill and will take time for people to understand his weakness's. I have played him a lot and learned how to play vs him. Like any of the other champs if he loses lane early it is really hard for him to catch up. Not unlike Yasuo, Katarina, Akali or any other champ. The lack of understanding that people have of the new champs is what causes people to dislike the change. Play him, learn his abilities and find his counters, Yasuo counters him very well and 2 hits Ekko since his hp is so low.

Same here. I pplayed as him alot, and know his weak spots pretty well, I havent ever lost against him in a lane

I love his design, he might be my favorite champion ever released since Shaco.

100% agree with you on that, though never played Shaco, his play style is perfect for me and how I love to play the game.

They share similar play mechanics, though it takes different forms. I consider them both to be what I call "precog champions", where in order to get the most out of them you have to plan ahead.

For Shaco this takes the form of placing boxes strategically before fighting/pushing, for Ekko it's basically his entire kit. They also both have ultimates that make them briefly untargetable, which might be my favorite mechanic ever for escaping death in really clutch ways.
