Why friends do not let friends play this game!!!!
let the trolls and jaded discontents have a crack at this truth.
The reason I would not recommend this game to a friend is the matchmaking. It does not work for most players. Very rarely do I end a game and say that was a good match less than 10% of the time will this happen. let's start with ARAM I have played over 700 games no matter what I do I always have 80 more loses than wins. I mainly play this mode and have improved with every champion including the random ones that I roll. I know its "supposed" to be random, however sometimes the team configuration is very unbalanced I.e. super poke vs. no poke, all CC vs. no CC ect. these games are not fun even if you are winning.
Ranked and Normal modes are even worse. From what I comprehend due to the fact that Riot Games is very vague and secretive on the subject of exactly how their matchmaking system functions; your system is based on the ELO rating system developed in the sixties to rank Chess players. Chess is not a team game! This is the 21st century! If there is any truth to this your system is over reaching by design.
Rating a players skill by only wins and losses in a ten player game is ludicrous. Even the Spaceballs wouldn't dream of such a ruse. Tracking only those two statistics ensures that a player is judged by the weakest member of the team. Individual skill, ability to make plays effectively, these aspects are never tracked or even given any value. The worst player on each team ultimately decides the outcome of the game. Make a poll ask the community, once you sort through the trolling the confidence interval would force you to face this broken system in another wise good game. Your matchmaking never even worked to be called broken.
Even more disheartening is Riot Games indifference to the subject. The blatant lack of transparency concerning this issue only fuels to exasperate it more.
