Climbing elo

Hello! I'm wondering what advice you all have for me. I'm currently bronze 5 and am a 1 trick thresh player. I've managed to get to bronze 4 around 15 times but always drop back. I'm getting around 20 lp in bronze 5, but when I hit bronze 4 I get 12 on a win and lose 24 on a loss. I don't know how to climb when 1 lose takes 2 wins worth of lp. Anything helps!

avoid playing support until mid silver play carries until then

Try a sustain support, I went from B5 to B2 one tricking Sona. I theorize it's due to the fact I can heal away some of the ADCs bad positioning as well as my own while providing a ton of poke.

Unfortunately Id recommend getting off of thresh until you climb to mid silver. Thresh can carry but not in the damage sense that is a priority in bronze. You cannot trust your teammates to follow up on an engage, to click the lantern, to position around you, to let you last hit with relic, and the list goes on. Thresh is an amazing champ but he is amazing because he enables teammates. Its just not sound advice to tell you to try different things on thresh in the rank you're at. Unless you're building damage on him. Take it from someone who last year was brand new to the game and thought I was good at support. I was stuck bronze 3-5 for half the season then started playing brand/zyra and climbed to gold with a 70% winrate playing support. Did it again this season. My support is again at around 70% winrate but unfortunately i decided to try to be an adc main for the first 140 games and had a staggering 34% winrate lol. Im gold again in SoloQ and its exactly because i went back to brand/Zyra. Once youre high silver/low gold, you can expand your pool a bit because people start knowing whats going on. Before that though, its like playing russian roulette with teammates.

I agree, it's the same reason I switched from Leona.

Same. I was a leona main before switching to carries. I still play her into perfect conditions and i havent checked but i think im like 9-1. People gotta learn some champs can take advantage of team comps much better than a main. On the other hand, some people are so skilled with a specific champ that they can dominate regardless in their ELO.
