URF AND ARURF Suggestion that could make riot a fortune while making the League community HAPPY!!!!!

I, and many of the people whose threads I've read, THOROUGHLY enjoy the URF and ARURF game modes! I would like to know why these modes are not permanently available, as they are EXTREMELY popular and personally my FAVORITE modes!!! My opinion of URF and ARURF may not be of much significance in the big picture, but I know my opinions are shared with MANY, MANY of my peers, my fellow summoners! I am speaking on behalf of the MANY people I KNOW agree with me. If there is some monetary reason why URF is not permanently available, I have a suggestion for you (The Riot Team). Allow a monthly subscription fee to be paid which would grant the payee access to permanent URF OR ARURF servers. I would personally pay a monthly fee or even a one time fee which would allow me access to the URF or ARURF game modes permanently.

I have been playing LoL for years now. I just found out about URF around August 19th 2017. ( Since I started playing League 8-9 years ago, I stopped playing for years in between). I just started playing again regularly about a year ago and since then, I have not come close to having as much fun as I had during the 4-5 days I was able to play ARURF. I was laughing so hard at one point (during an ARURF match that was BEYOND fun) that I actually cried for about 5 minutes straight. In the ENTIRE time I've played LoL combined, I have not enjoyed the game more than the five or so days that I was able to play ARURF. I thoroughly looked forward to playing the next match and to return home to play again every one of those days that ARURF was available. In allowing me to play ARURF, you gave me the greatest enjoyment and possibly the GREATEST gaming experience I have EVER had in my life. (This means A LOT coming from a lifetime gamer).

In short, I beg that you allow us to play ARURF on a regular basis. If that request cannot be met, I implore you to take the time to explain to me WHY this wonderful game mode was removed. Possibly most importantly, i would be willing to pay BIG money to be able to play this way. I very, VERY rarely spend money on the non-essentials in life, and although you don't know me personally, this is a huge compliment that a cheapskate like myself would be more than willing to pay for ARURF. I know that this offer would be met well (if you were to offer a way to pay to play urf or arurf), because even I would pay for that, and I don't pay for entertainment easily. If someone like me would be willing to pay for this, I know you would definitely gain from this venture. Please PLEASE tell me what it would take to make this a reality. Please, PLEASE, at least explain to me if you truly believe that it cannot be a reality, why it can't be so.

You have shown me, given me, something I truly loved and I am desperate for you to work with us, (because I know I don't stand alone here) to provide us (your loyal supporters) with something we truly want. THANK YOU, for taking the time to read through this; I SINCERELY appreciate it. I thank you even more, if you take the time to respond to me. -Best, SirTripsta

People on these boards have hated AR URF, what are you smoking?

People on boards hate everything. ARURF nonetheless enjoyed sub-30sec queues pretty consistently.

They hate it until its removed, but I loved the randomizer mode purely because i dont see the top 10 picks at all

As Sir Fuzzi said, the queue time was almost always sub-30 seconds. When I played, games were ready sub-1 second multiple times. During my experience, the shit talking was much, MUCH less frequent in ARURF, the games were quick and the queues were extremely short. My point is that the attitudes of everyone I played with were generally much more positive than in any other game mode I've played.

The people that are enjoying ARURF are not spending their time posting about how much they love it as they are playing, but when someone has a bad experience, of course they are going to post about how "terrible" it is because in that moment they are frustrated.

You hear negativity in the news all the time because that's what gets people riled up. For every 100 people that were enjoying ARURF, I'm sure there was at least 1 person that disliked it enough to complain about it. You hear a few complaints and read it as everyone hates this mode, but the reality of it can't be denied. The queues were extremely fast and there has been PLENTY of noise made about bringing it back, if not permanently, AT LEAST more frequently!

Permanent URF would kill the novelty. URF would become a 'secondary meta' of picks who are next-most viable after the top bans, and ARURF would be a lot of rerolling into high poke or CC. It's fun for the week or three because you get interesting scenarios where people are figuring out who does and doesn't work. But after that, everyone learns the meta pretty quick and it becomes stale. Even toward the end of ARURF just now, you could tell the cast was gradually narrowing as more and more champs went to 'reroll status.'

I'd cover the economic side of things but I think that much shit is going to want its own post. It might be better explained by someone more in-the-know. The short version is: image is everything, and 'free game' is very much an image you have to work very strongly to maintain.

I greatly appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. Thank you for that! I disagree that permanent or even just a more frequent URF/ARURF would kill any of the enjoyment in it. Suggesting that ARURF would have a lot of rerolling into high poke or CC doesn't make sense to me. ARAM has the same reroll conditions and it is permanently up here from what I've seen. Rerolls are earned after 'x' amount of games are played (or reroll points earned) and even then, a reroll doesn't guarantee that a preferred champion will be selected. In short, there can't be "a lot of rerolling" when the rerolls are capped at 2 and are not available every game. It becomes clear over time which champs are more preferable sure, but that doesn't mean that only those champs show up, and it certainly doesn't hinder the enjoyment of playing that way (at least not for me). It truly does remain random and that alone prevents it from becoming redundant. In reference to the idea of the game mode becoming stale, well, don't all game modes (not just in league, but all games) eventually get stale? If the game mode became stale to someone, they just wouldn't play it anymore, and therefore, I see no harm in keeping the option open for those who are still enjoying it. Additionally, the cast of champions narrows in all game modes, random or not. Some characters are just more popular than others, exemplified by Riot's focus on certain champs getting more skins and more attention in patches.

To comment on your second paragraph, I wholeheartedly agree with you about keeping the image of a free game being very important for Riot. Having a game mode that you can purchase would not change anything else about league that we love. For those of us who love URF/ARURF enough to pay for it, I don't see that causing an issue with the LoL image. Imagine allowing URF/ARURF to be free as frequently as it is now, but then having the option to pay to play that particular mode as well. There would be no negative impact on image in this scenario in my opinion and honestly, I think they would have a lot of buyers. In other words, if having the option to pay for a skin doesn't hurt the image of a free game, why should the option of paying for a game mode that is occasionally free hurt the image of a free game? I see no harm in having that option. I only see it being a benefit to the die-hard fans of URF/ARURF and a benefit to Riot's bank account.

I'd be happy if they actually rotated it like the other modes, I don't think riot would make it permanent since they still want their escort scene to be popular. I could see them doing it in a couple years tho when no one cares to watch lcs
