Please Bring Back Old Aatrox

Back in 2013 was when I started playing league and Aatrox was one of my first champs and I stuck with him for a long time and it made me really sad when i heard he was getting reworked. When the rework came out I was like it was okay but I missed the old kit (his w mainly). Later on he was made into this now and I just want old Aatrox back, I don't care if the old kit is revamped, I just miss the boi. I know this won't change anything but if something changes it would make me happy.

At the very least they could release a female Darkin (aka Varus' sister) that would function similarly to old Aatrox.

We have 3 out of 5 Darkin Champions so far so we need a mid laner and a support. Kind of hard to do either with old Aatrox Kit now that I think about it.

There was that female dark in concept floating around when varus was changed. She had a whip and was a support that had a damage and healing stances.

Honestly its kind of depressing. Aatrox was my first champ i ever got (my friend gifted me him when i was new) and i found so much fun with him and it makes me so sad not being able to play him anymore. I wish they would bring him back so bad. I miss him more than ive ever missed a champ after rework before... hes just gone...

I don't think either of these champs qualifies. Melee diving + lifesteal != old Aatrox just on its own. Blood Well management was a very unique, enjoyable, skill-based mechanic that gave him a unique feel unlike any other champion, and with which he could do things unlike any other champion from a very early level if played correctly.

I miss him too, for what it's worth. And I think it is among the more unfortunate timing on reworks - he was reworked because he had temporarily fallen out of favor and was considered a "failed" design, but quite literally just as his rework was being released he had already become pick-or-ban in the pros again due to shifts in the meta and quite possibly would not have been remembered as "failed" at all if that meta had been allowed to progress.

Reading your reply put a smile on my face. The one honest thing everyone forgets is they chose greed over loyal Aatrox mains. Aatrox's initial release back in the day was quite massive and they wanted to recapture it.

Thank you. Many people look at surface level similarity and just make a quick judgment, but old Aatrox had so many unique ideas and mechanics that have just been removed forever. Playing Xin Zhao and old Aatrox were two completely different feelings.

Only if you bring back old Galio too, both of them have undergone extensive buffs/nerfs after their reworks because they are balance nightmares. And it just so happens some of the most fun i've had in League was playing those champions back then.

I never played aatrox before the VGU but now I play him now and then. I personally think he is a much more fun and interesting champ then the old aa reliant version (champs like trynda should get reworked too for that reason). But his personality and VU was better before.

thats the point though.....Not all champs should rely on abilities which is why reworking aatrox was god awful. I got aatrox up to level 4 cap points in just a free week back in season 5 and since the rework maybe played him twice. It's not the same champ and this is where people who make cases for champion refunds deserve to be heard

i do miss old aatrox, i miss when the passive gave free attack speed, i don't even really care if they remove the revive. But i don't hate the current aatrox, i mean he seems to be a pain to balance but i don't have him right now. What i want is old quinn back, where is my birb

The attack speed was the main thing I liked about him, going in with Q and lethal tempo? Fun as hell. Knockup lane bully poke champ made for LCS? With healing out the arse more thn old Aatrox could ever do? He's just dull.

Actually there are things that i like about the new aatrox, however they have removed so many things that made him unique, that made him aatrox. They removed his revive and his heal and sustain as well as nerfed his damage and reduced his mobility. Its too much. One thing that I really liked about old aatrox was the W, where you can choose to life steal or sacrifice life for massive damage, that was very unique.

I was highly against taking health costs off of old Aatrox His Q just needed to cost less hp or his base armor and magic resist needed to be higher I dont get how people go around saying Aatrox's play style is boring but every adc can build crit and lifesteal do damage like Aatrox's 3rd w is always on pay no hp for it and heal like his third w is always on but they dont have to give up the safety aatrox had to while being just as tanky as aatrox before his rework (slight diffrence magic resist wise in his favor and hp wise and adcs favor)

I don't personally think we need to go all the way back to pre-rework Aatrox, but a lot of the changes made to him recently were terrible.

They completely removed the revive on his ultimate, and now his E is literally just "dash", one of the most boring abilities in the game. Not to mention his passive being changed from something that allows him to out-sustain his opponent to a knock-off Grasp of the Undying.

Revert him to when he got a revive on his ultimate if he got a kill, had 2 dashes and a more unique passive and just nerf some numbers.

Seems like the right thing to do. The counterplay being all micro and no macro has overall worsened the experience. It just makes the came more stressful and less rewarding. And I loved Sol, the dragon was a reason for me to log on and that is now gone. Game was better when kits were less loaded, assassins were very risky to blind pick, and Riot was okay with every champ not being for everyone.

I miss him so much. I love new Aatrox and I've grown attached to him for sure, but I miss back in 2015-2017 when I felt the rush of finding a new main that really resonated with me. No one will capture me more than old Aatrox.

Evelynn as well. Or at the least have champions to take their place. Pre-rework Evelynn filled a unique niche as a jungler being hybrid AD, AP, mixed, or AS focused to shred through targets after stalking them. Now she's a constantly top 3 jungler sure, but it isn't healthy and she builds the same 4 items every single game.

I get that the tank build on her was an issue, but that could have been avoided just with higher ratios and her new ult while keeping her malleable build path that made her adapt to the game's needs.

Right now the closest to a character that can shred a target from stealth is Nocturne , who is likely on the chopping block for a complete rework outside of his ult anyway.
