How to build Ivern? SOLVED
I bought Ivern the day after his release and got demolished in my first game. BUT, I learned.
In my opinion his biggest problem was early sustain. As a
main, this bothered me. That why my first item is
/
. It REALLY helps with his clear, and allows him to stay in the jungle, roaming and helping lanes, until 900 gold to get
Wait, BOOTS FIRST AND NO JNG ITEM?!?! Yes. He needs the mobi boots to get from camp to camp and lane to lane. Mobi boots = mad amounts of farm. And wtf are you doing starting a jng item anyway. STOP. It does nothing for ivern. NOTHING. Break the mold. Be willing to be different, or don't play this champ. I then build
or
, depending on what my gold is next time i am at the shop. I buy the other next.
Now is the fun part, build
. Shield, Q someone, pull to them, then activate the GLP. BAM. Massive Slow + Massive Damo. it's a great combo and GLP's stats make him pretty solid overall. Then build
or
. I take chilling for the extra utility, but trackers is good if you need vision. At this point itemization is largely situational and most of the time i find myself getting
for the CDR and damage, then i can build
,
,or even
seems viable but the AS is good with Ivern so i take TF most of the time. Because I usually build tf, i buy
next. This is interesting because I know can choose to go,
/
or straight into
. Build flexability is awesome!! :D
The last item i find to be huge on Ivern, is
. I hate building this item, it's sooo cheesy. But, at this point the other team will hate you so much, they will dive you. This let's you go invulnerable, while daisy still gets to do work. "BUT MAH
AND
" I know Ivern's a supportive jungle, and this build has little MR, but missing out on the ap hurts Daisy too much right now. She only scales with AP, and she's your best weapon. Itemizing to be stronger helps your more team overall.
I hope I could help anyone who bought this champ and is struggling. I've had a lot of fun playing him and I feel like his low win rate and people's complaints are largely because they have no idea how to play this guy. Went 7-1-11 the other day. He's not super weak. The reason I am doing better then most is not because i'm good (SilverV, playing less then 1 year) it's because I don't rely on mobafire guides (which are sooo bad for ivern) to learn a champ. I learn from feeling out the strengths and weaknesses and trying to take the champ to his peak power, and i feel this is the way to do it.
Please give me feedback! I've had limited time to play him, so I'd love some more insight on the matter and maybe learn a new item that is op on him. Oh, and always steal opponent's red first. Thanks for reading!
into full tank is all you need.
