Patch 6.13 - Top Lane I mean Supports

Devinoosh··2 votes·625 views

I'm really pleased that Riot gave us 2 paragraphs of writing instead of anything meaningful for supports. Tahm Kench was really the only issue with Support, so glad that got cleared up I've been holding my breath! Also like how they started out by saying "Support isn't weak everything's fine"....except Tahm Kench I guess. Ward level ups! Wow I can't wait to play Support now, everyone will know what a great job I've done. Oh and then saying this is a patch for supports and then going on to explain in length how you're fixing top lane atmosphere. Grand job, Riot. Beautifully executed. Turret couldn't have done it any better.

I think you're focusing too much on the ward leveling up element which I agree is B.S. I actually think the Ancient Coin change is HUGE: (1) Supports who want the speed boost are often those who want to be in the middle of an engage and need the armor; (2) It allows tanks to pick this item and not have to worry about teammates letting them execute minions; and (3) You get CDR earlier.

The changes to Relic Shield make sense. The other Support item changes make sense. And Supports will now level up quicker and be more relevant.

I'm not sure what you were expecting? I personally was hoping for a little more of an EXP boost but Riot is limited because the game doesn't necessarily "know" someone is a support - an item made for supports could be abused by other laners (like Frostqueen's Claim was before it got nerfed).

I guess that's the issue right now. Can't boost items too much because non supports will take it. Also the issue with non supports being support making extremely volatile lanes where you go in playing an oldschool support champ thinking you're going to do well and the other matchup is an ADC and ranged AP or assassin. I'm not trying to bitch for the sake of bitching I just wish they would have done more than a few minor tweaks to items. I've been checking out ancient coin this morning trying to gauge it's rework.

I can understand that you were a little disappointed because perhaps they gave you a feeling that something significant was happening but rather its minor additions.

But my point is: What changes do YOU recommend? You shouldn't complain without also giving some practical solutions that you would like to see implemented.

What I was hoping for was a passive on the three support items that gives extra EXP if near a teammate who is higher level than you.

At least their trying instead of the usual "Who cares about support" mentality

Edited for ya.

True true. I guess we just gotta wait our turn till the Nice "support rework" like the assassin and Mage updates. This is implying we get one.

If there's "more to come" than this I'll wait for any further complaints on my end. I've been playing support for a long while so this was a letdown so far.

Yeah, it still needs a lot of work. Its a step in the right direction though.

can people like you ever be happy? like its people like you in game who are toxic.. :| no matter what they do you just cant ever be like; hey riot thanks.

Devinoosh1 votes

What exactly did they do? Besides boost the fish? You're telling me to be happy for......what?

Also I'm not being toxic, I've been faithfully playing support for a long time I was just hoping for some substance when they alerted us to MEANINGFUL support changes this patch in the patch lineup a few weeks back. Not visual leveling wards lmao. It's my right to voice my displeasure. You confuse me with the always complaining trolls on here. I've been thankful for lots of changes over the years. This one just was a huge letdown.

I dunno, visually upgrading the wards seems pretty cool to me.
