Honor System

So I like the new honor system in the way that it recognizes players. I just had a few questions about possible future implementations.

  1. I know that in future implementations, Riot was looking to add the ability to honor your opponents. Is there something more difficult about implementing that system for opponents that I'm missing?

  2. Why aren't we allowed to honor multiple teammates? I understand the desire to stop honor spamming but at the same time, why should honorable members of the team be shortchanged because they weren't the "most honorable?" At the very least maybe have the ability to honor 2 or three people? That usually covers the majority of games where I see standout players that deserve recognition.

  3. Is there a way to cancel honor for players on the opposing team? I've had games where players BM and annoy players on my team intentionally and then get honored by their teammates for it. Shouldn't sportsman-like conduct be a prerequisite for being honored? It seems as if the current system only encourages you to be nice to your own teammates.

It's not that honouring multiple teammates and/or opponents is difficult to add, so much as for release they wanted the system to be as simple as possible, and they also wanted the system to be somewhat in your face in order to help ensure engagement. Shoving the 4 players you mostly interacted with in your face and give your a short period to pick one is a pretty effective way to do that, compared to 9 players with multiple votes.

You can't 'cancel' honours exactly, but if they're being twats in /all chat you can report them for offensive language/negative attitude depending on whats more appropriate. If they receive any punishments, then they'll be reduced to level 1 or 0 honour depending on the severity of the punishment, which is a somewhat more impactful punishment than just negating a single honour.

That seems fair. I don't really know what else there is to complain about then. Thanks for that. I thought about reporting, but it didn't seem like a reportable offense. Not that I was that tilted though. The way I see it now, if I'm not bothered enough to report it then it should be fair game.
