AP Item vs AD

I've been wondering - the ONLY option AP midlaners have to counter hard AD in midlane is to rush "Seeker's Armguard" - however, while AD midlaners have several options vs magic based champions.

Matchup AD vs AP:

  • Hexdrinker (ad + MR + ap shield trigger)

  • QSS that scales into "Mercurial scimitar" (AD with MR + removes all debuffs) If you are AP vs AD:

  • Seeker's Armguard (scales into AP + armor + 2 second immunity) (however 2,5 seconds immunity doesn't remove zed's ticking ult dmg if you hit zhonyas exactly when he ult's you)

AD midlaners can even start with a much higher AD count compared to AP midlaners who can have a lot less ap nowadays.

AP midlaners can start with resistances, however that forces them to start with a low amount of AP.

My 1. point being:

  • AP midlaners need more options to counter AD opponents with various AP+armor items

My 2. point being: we need more items with ad + mr & ap+armor items in general to make itemization count even more in midlane now that we have a more general mastery tree. I for one, really think AP champs has been nerfed hard compared to AD champions in generel. This suggestion makes up for it i think.

Cheers

Been working on it in the spare time. It's not finished yet so feel free to give some feedback on it ;)

how about ad + armor ? how about just more items in general? btw, mages outscale ad champs in midlane hardcore so its fine if they have less/worse earlygame itemization. also nothing stops you from rushing a giantsbelt + seekers and get a rylais later or get that ruby crystal for Rod of ages.

whatever, its up to you if you want to cry or own

Honestly - I don't care - as long as AP vs AD and AD vs AP have equal options when buying items to counter their dmg. My point is, I think the game would be even more exciting if we had several more options to choose from when it comes to items with multiple passives to counter.

I'm all for adding more items to the game, but I think what you are looking for is what will be coming in the next class level rework.(juggernaut, Marksmen) I think Mages are the next class that will be reworked.
