having this happen and this new season suppose to come out but whats the point if my old rankings are gonna hold me down in bronze V again even tho i went 8-2 like whats the point riot? you should fix this or people are going to stop playing because i know for a matter a fact this has made me not wanna play anymore. Why work so hard to do so well to get put in bronze V again

lol u expect to go up in placements? you dont deserve to climb so you aren't, simple. Bronze V play like afks so if you cant climb in that that is where you belong, simple.
Daklore1 votesPlacements aren't giving you a fresh elo to start with, unless it's your first time in ranked period. Once you have a ranked MMR, your placements are essentially regular ranked games with slightly higher impact on your MMR. A soft reset will trend your MMR toward neutral, but it won't reset it -to- the neutral everyone starts at. If it did that, it'd be a hard reset and challenger players would be stomping bronze and silver players for their first few matches. The placements aren't poor, it's just your expectations of what placements mean are poor. :3
Ad Vitam Aeterna1 votesThis happens every single season, so no, most people clearly aren't going to stop playing. If you are good enough to be in your old rank you'll get there. I'm almost back to Plat 5 where I started off after going 8-2 in my placements and falling to Gold 4. most people in my situation actually fell to low Silver. The people who fell to Bronze 5 had less of a fall than the higher players in actuality.
