Ranked Punishment System

I think riot needs to be more forgiving on lp loss and demotion. Like most, I struggle through silver/gold/plat ranking and we all know it's hell. If the ranking is unique to a person's abilities, what happens when the loss of a game is not one's fault? People hear this a lot and just assume the person claims they're not always guilty and in cases it can be true. However, riot punishes us -18 - 20 lp a game and so if games are not going the right way, a player could be at 0 quickly. If you lose one game, you're demoted. Or at least in my case I have been. If a person truly doesn't deserve a rank, then frequent loses in the division will prove the person's true rank. However, riot needs to be more forgiving to those who are just having a bad ranked day and hold a consistent loss streak, or make frequent mistakes, or play with people who shouldn't be in that elo. I suggest that riot lowers the amount taken away or gives players a chance to redeem themselves at 0 lp. Some people have the luxary of playing 6 games before they're demoted, others do not. I don't think that system is fair. I can manage losing games in a row, but it becomes frustrating when the punishment becomes worse each game. For example, I lost a game in S2 at 0 lp because a passing storm came a knocked my internet out. Within a few minutes, the game was over and I was demoted & reported (and which i can understand given low priority queue for being AFK for a brief time). Now, going back up to one division has be absolute hell. Today, I was at 0 lp and got demoted to S4. One little error caused me to go down 2 divisions. On another note, the punishment promotes people to elo boost and/or quit the game. It can become frustrating to be placed in a division that was under the influence of someone else or some other factor. This has been a frustrating topic that has bothered me and I'm sure other people as well. Some might be quick to jump to the concussion that people in this elo always claim to be better than they are, but try to put it into perspective. This could be a personal opinion, but who knows others may agree with this. Just feedback.
