Food for thought
Has anyone noticed the acute shift in the game play compositions for the 5 man champion teams on the summoner's rift? Almost the entirety of the last few weeks that I had come back into league (I have been playing consistently for over 4 years) I have noticed that juggernauts, tanks, even some bruisers or just any champion without consistent crowd control / mobility have become unplayable.
Over these last few recent weeks, my experience on the fields of justice have been... unsatisfying. Sure I can take losses and even several in a row but me losing isn't the point. The fact that my losing streak started with a composition I played against (either being the amplified ability power champions or the ever strong attack damage / consistently mobile champions) just makes me feel like I wasn't really playing, but simply letting them sharpen their blades.
// Don't even get me started on everyone who claims to know Malzahar
inside and out since his rework. I'm only mainly upset because I can't play my main ability based champion because he's permabanned in draft style champion selects. (This is another matter altogether). //
I could be way off in my comparison but I think the meta right now feels almost like season 2. Its League of Legends (the game I wholeheartedly love) but isn't my idea of 100% enjoyable. Similar to season 2 the winning composition usually picks a high number of damage dealers that have few draw backs and can snowball quite easily. I am fully aware there is no way to change how people prefer to form team compositions (I am just stating my personal opinion).
I am taking my opinion mostly from how I can almost never play tank style / juggernaut style champions in the top lane or jungle anymore. Even if i can take some damage for a while, I outplayed my opponent enough to kill them after they make a mistake, I build correctly to stomp their overall damage output... I cannot seem to stop them from snowballing from early to mid game.
Let's disregard the existence of
for one minute, bury any opinions of the champions who are the bane of every player who seeks "balance in all things," certain items that create play styles that may or may not interest you, the opinions of all onlookers or the fact that this board post is written by someone outside of Riot Games. Let me ask you what makes us come back to this game, why do YOU love League of Legends?
Share your thoughts! I would love to understand what everyone like about this game and what could make it even better!
