Demoted from Gold 4 to Silver 3 within 2 weeks :-/

Hi all,

I'm a Caitlyn/ADC main. This is my first year playing LOL - I started off playing normals with friends then got into ranked a couple of months later, and I ended S9 in Silver 1. A couple days after the season ended, I made it to Gold 4 - and ever since then, I've pretty much been on a losing streak. Now, I'm back at Silver 3 which is really frustrating. I'm not going to blame everything on my teammates because I'm sure that I have areas to improve on as well, but it's honestly impossible to win when you're playing as safe and as smart as you can but everyone else is making the wrong decisions and feeding left and right. Before S10 starts, I really want to know how I can prevent this from happening again, as I want to make it back to Gold (or higher). Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Play duo queue, solo q is a slot machine on which monkeys get out of the cage and onto your team, duos are more consistent so you know what to expect, and also just try to cs better to create gold leads, and remember that staying alive to dps>cleaning up 1-2 kills and dying, as adc you cannot afford to die in a teamfight if you’re carrying. Ps: i demoted from s1-s4 in a couple of weeks back in October but now im in g4, preseason teams are lowkey better but gl brother!

This is because there is absolutely no consistency in skill level between ranks on any given day. I to have noticed games have gotten more difficult, I assume people are jumping in for preaseason.

Preseason has a huge MMR difference in games. I've been playing with Silvers and unranked players in my games even though I'm Gold I. Stick to norms is the best advice.

Another tip is to not play ADC right now. Pretty garbage role by itself. It has a lot of agency/influence but also that power is also outside your control for the most part. Support/Mid has the most influence in the game IMO with drakes and elder right now. Support also determines the lane for ADCs. If you choose tank supports, which are really strong as of now or Soraka/Morg/Janna/Senna - you can determine the outcome of games by virtue of existence.

I say support > mid because if you lose mid you lose game. You lose a bit as support, your other lanes can punish the ADC and your ADC can catch up if you don't feed too hard.

i've noticed time of day really matters. I live in the Midwest and honestly anytime before Noon is a awful time for Ranked. Also I've noticed that playing at Evening/Night is just better consistency in terms of teams.

During the Day if I play (even up to about 3 pm afternoon) the games are SO inconsistent, either you hit the Lotto and your team Rolls and just hard smashes or they INT even when it's not you inting there are like always at least 2 ppl inting.

So yeah honestly I wouldn't touch ranked until after 4 pm ofc that's based on the ELO maybe higher elo it's different

you can´t the only way to prevent this is to duo now you can carry the team with your duo which peel for you in endgame.

Improve your cs. You're averaging 4.5 csm as an adc main, so of course you're having a hard time pulling and maintaining an advantage. If you want to consistently win games, try improving your farm and learn when to trade with your enemies. Even if you only pull a fifteen cs lead before your first back, that's enough to make the difference between a warhammer and a best friend sword. Get the latter, push your enemy laners in under their tower, deny them farm and xp. If you can force them out of lane, you have priority and can roam to contest objectives or take plates. Keep the gold lead and you'll become unstoppable.

You won't win every game, but you will win more than you lose and slowly climb from where you're at.

LMAO

Yeah it's only you team. You are right. That's why Smurfs can play ADC with 100% winrate through Silver, Gold and Plat. Maybe your "smart as you can" isn't as smart as you might think.

the number one thing that will keep you consistently in gold is being able to CS well. Between Ashe and Caitlyn you are not even averaging 5 cs per game. You will be able to carry more games in low elo when you can farm better. You should be aiming for 25-30 cs at 5 min, 75 cs at 10 min and 170 cs at 20 min. It has nothing to do with your teammates because I got through silver and low gold with close to a 75% win rate. Once I have learned how to CS I then learned how to manipulate the wave which has got me to plat. You need to break down the game and learn it slowly. Being low elo has very minimal to do with your teammates but your lack of fundamentals of the game.
