when a tank can put out more damage than an adc i think theres something wrong riot. Who's bright idea was to giuve a champion a silent with movement speed a spin that crits and then Armour and magic resist and then a true damage excution ult. HMMMMM give me this genius name please. Then it gets better over time this champion heals, nice riot i love how you guys are all about balance and fair play. Spin to win boys this game is broken or atleast the ******* ******** brains that created this game go ****** *******.

hes not a tank.

tanks = high defense, high amounts of (aoe) cc, long range initiation (malphite ult) or heavy peel (taric stun and ult, braum ult and q etc.)

bruisers = high defense, high damage. and in case of juggernauts in specific, low mobility, and low cc.

the important part is that while tanks bring low to mediocre damage, theyre often loaded with aoe cc. and can slow/stun/knockup the entire enemy team.

bruisers are sustained damage carries, and the reason garen is so tanky is because he doesnt have in combat sustain (lifesteal, spellvamp) and low mobility.

and here come the usual complaints:

"but he runs fast"

its only a short duration 30% movement speed bonus. not comparable to hard gap closers or mobility tools of other champions, which still leaves him very kitable.

"but he heals a lot"

his passive has a 9 second cooldown, and heals very little in lane. if you poke at him with any form of damage you keep it deactivated. it also usually forces him to stay back and give up cs to regenerate health.

"but he hit me with 2000 true damage"

his ult damage scales with missing health and death recap doesnt cut off overkill. chances are you were ulted on very low health, when a single auto attack would have killed you.

"but he silences"

for 1.5 seconds, which covers half the duration of his spin. you shoudl still be able to dash out of range before youre in kill range of the ult. also, youre supposed to prevent him to get into melee range in the first place, so dont expect it to be easy when hes already in your face.

Garen is far from OP. Tank Fizz much stronger than tank garen ATM, for exmaple.

ult is only true damage against marked targets, however marked targets also take a bit of true damage from his basic abilities as well.
