SoloQ is dead.

Big surprise, Riot's been stringing us along this whole time.

This video really shows they are missing a huge point that is skewing all of their opinions and viewpoints: **They assume ALL players want to play with friends or other players. ** I don't play with friends, I don't have friends that play this game, I don't play this game to make friends, I like to play this game alone - these are HUGE points that a lot of players who are calling for Solo Q to come back. Riot has completely screwed themselves and I don't want to quit this game but ranked is a really big part of this. It's really just a sad situation to be in. The player base has been screaming until we are hoarse and Riot just isn't listening.

It's nonsense. Clumping every queue configuration together makes no sense for ranked ladder since solo to 5-man are different skills and experiences (plus possible voice chat/pre-game advantages). No matter how hard you try to adjust it, it's inherently a broken system if you take competitive play seriously. There is simply no other way around it. That's the problem for me. It's not just unfair matchmaking, it's that it lacks validity as a ranking system since it doesn't force consistency in the experience despite putting everything on a single ladder.

They could at least show a solo ranking separately though even if it's all DQ still.

I know no one cares, but this is what has finally caused me to leave this game.

6 year player here. I loved solo queue... hated that it was removed but I was promised it would be returned. Now it's revealed that we were lied to the whole time, thanks but no thanks, not staying to play an entirely different game than the one I enjoyed.

Just don't play this game anymore and try another game, you'll realize you waste so much time for a game where the company doesn't even listen to the players concern. You'll also realize you wasted 45 minutes playing with trolls and afkers. Try another game and don't support Riot anymore or even watch the streamers stream this game on twitch, it's not worth wasting your time. Try another game and you'll how fun it is to play a game without being frustrated with all this crap that League of Legends is offering. The game went downhill this 2016 and will never be the same.

Yeah, why are you shocked? Riot NEVER planned to bring it back. They never revert their precious things once they've dropped them. They never admit their mistakes at all. Even the one post about the MASSIVE shitpile that was the Fiora rework and new, awful art assets they did EVERYTHING they could to make the mess seem blameless by saying "We had a different envisioning of the character than the fans did" or some such face-saving bullcrap.

Riot lied. The moment Dynamic Queue was greenlit to go live they had NO intention of ever backpedaling on the choice or on creating a second queue. They lied every time they said otherwise, and they let people hope so that the clamor of hate for it would calm down before they dropped that bomb. If you're lucky, in a year or two they'll release a "new, improved" game mode that will be kinda similar to solo queue, and they'll hope everyone doesn't remember the past. Considering how hard Riot is pushing to bring in new players and how much they're (unintentionally?) pushing away their older players... you know, the ones they became a success because of... they might just expect that soon no one playing the game will even have BEEN there for anything but the sucktastic way things are being done now.

if you want solo que then solo que players have to stop playing dynamic que resulting in long que times that are unfixable since there would be no filler playerbase

They probably would have been better off not even announcing it and just wait for years and years...

In the Video, Lobbster, the main dev for DynamicQ said : "we never had that much peoples playing ranked right now" to trying to tell us there never been that much players playing since DynamicQ come out like it was a great thing.

the only way to balance premade winrates vs soloQ winrates is to give soloQ an MMR handicap when they queue. in other words if you soloQ you play against premades with lower elos.

if you can soloQ with ping notifications better than some scrubs on curse you'll be just fine.

the biggest issue i have with the current system are these 2 things

first off and MOST importantly.

i main jungle, and secondary support,

the thing is right now i put my primary role as jungle and my secondary role as mid

because i CANNOT pick support as a secondary role

because i quite literally got support THIRTY ranked games in a row when putting as secondary

you can view my match history at the start of the season (choose ranked on summoner's rift) if you scroll down feb 15 and then scroll up for thirty game or so you will see EVERY time i got support.

i was planning on actaulyl testing it to see at what point it would stop giving me support.. buce ocne it reached thirty i just removed support as an option.

but i REFUSE to put it as a secondary role if im going to get it EVERY TIME.

and all this does is compound the issue becuase EVERYONE who would normally like to play support as a secondary will NEVER put it as an option.. so only the support MAINS even HAVE it as an option

if i put a role as my MAIN role.. i expect to be guarenteed it at LEAST 50% if the time

now I'm not saying that the system is REQUIRED to give me my main after it gives me my secondary one game.

but it should NEVEr go the point where i reach 4 or 5 games in a row where i ONLY get my secondary.. let alone THIRTY

now for me in silver elo i can pick jungle as my main.. and mid as my secondary and i can GET jungle as my main about 80% of the time when i put mid secondary, and since i dont mind play mid 20% if the time its fine for me.. anbd i still only get 1-2 min que times

but i would ALSO like to have option to play support. sure i can change my primary role (or secondary) to support any time i want to and get it with a 2 second que time.

and I'm 100% willing to wait even up to 5 min for a balanced match but if we had people like myself who are WILLING to support, even if its only 40% if the time. that would DRAMATICALLY lower the que times

because now instead of the ONLY people putting support as an option being the people who want support 100% of the time you now have people who are WILLING to play support as long as they don't get it more than half the time.

becuase right now i can pretty much 100% guarantee almost NO ONE is putting support as a secondary, becuase putting support secondary is not differnt than putting support primary of even "fill". if support is an listed option.. your going to get it 99% of the time

ok so thats issue number 1

number 2 the video talked about balancing premades vs solo players who are better

now if the premade is a group of 5. then thats fine

if the pemade is a group of 2.. its fine

if the premade is a group of 3, its still roughly ok becuase the other team likely has a premade as well

but when you get a group of FOUR, that last remaining 5th play HAS to be a solo player

and i have been in that position MANY time.

being that 5th as a solo is HORRIBLE

because there are 2 VERY important things that happen

1. you CANNOT stop the surrender vote from a 4 man premade
2. the same issue you decided to "fix" by placing matchmade team against better solo players,, totally screws over the 5th player on that 4 man premade team he ISN'T in a premade and he is FORCED to go up against a team that is mademade to be "better" than him just because 4 of his teammates are premade.

i understand that having any number of premade people on your team working together makes it easier to win. and that needs to be compensated for.

but that 5th player NOT in the premade isn't getting any compensation as he cant communicate any better than if he was with 4 randoms on his team.

and to a degree it is actually worse, because people on voice chat tend to use in game pings commands a LOT less (because voice communication is insanely better) this means as the 4th player your allies will be pinging less and communicating with you MUCH less than in a game with 5 randoms

I'd say that eventually, they'll realise that it is they who have lost.

We didnt lose, we were never fighting them.

We were nothing more than stiring ants angered by a child kicking over an anthill. "Look at those ants get mad and go on the warpath" the child thinks, watching from a few feet away. Just a while later, the ants go back to their normal ant lives, with no choice but to deal with their new situation (damaged hill).

They knew they woudlnt release it, they were just waiting for all the complaints to die down like the corporate "deal with unhappy customers" hand-book says to do (i.e. wait for the ants to calm down after kicking over their hill).

EDIT: random downvote without comment... people are sad. I dont like that we dont have solo Q, but thats just how shit is, downvoting my accurate analogy wont change what IS how things are, and how Riot DOES things like every other company.

to sum up that entire round table "go find someone to boost you out of bronze and into a elo you have no business being anywhere near let alone in"
