OK guys enough with this trend of "this game was balanced for china"

I admit, this game is a balancing nightmare, it always feels unbalanced. i also admit that this game lost a lot of its magic through years and seasons. but i think we should have to come to the conclusion that this game was never really balanced a long time ago. There always was a balancing problem in this game , just the fact was that there was not enough game features to have balancing problems with.

I admit , this season, reworks were trash. but they never truly were all sucessful (i miss you old Skarner )

and i also admit that they add mobility on EVERY rework, even champion with little mobility. (well RIP Mordekaiser) I admit they tried to make the game more fun (mobility is fun) but ended up making it unfun for everyone. (Why do tanks must have a dash ? Why do you give mobility in the first place ? all thoses question they never asked themselves)

I admit riot have to think of why they instinctively chosen those solutions.

But , they never balanced the game for the chinese server. nor did they balance it for any region.

they try to balance it for everyone. so they use statistics, because it's almost their only tool to balance their game.

TBH it would have been better if they balanced it with the idea of keeping it fun for everyone, but that's their choice, you might believe it's wrong , but they are the ones who decide in the end.

Also riot , if you ever read this, giving a champion with damages and cc more than 3 tools to avoid damages (mobility, shields, sustain) NEVER made any champion balanced ;) Irelia Camille Fiora Riven Yasuo

There are a lot of very convincing theories that make me believe it probably was Tencent pulling strings. Here's one.

Who ever asked for shorter games anyways? I've been playing since before Season 1. It seems that's all Riot has been focused on for like 3 years, but I don't remember any substantial amount of people crying about game length. Coincidentally, Tencent gained complete ownership of Riot Games in December, 2015.

You know who benefits from shorter games? Chinese players in Internet cafes. Now they can spend money for 1 hour and get 2-3 games instead of 1 game. You know who else benefits from that? Riot Games because the more games you play, the more likely you are to buy a skin. Asian population is much greater than EU + NA, so it makes sense that they would cater to them more than us. I don't blame them, it's just business, but let's not completely dispel these theories.

To answer a question in this (since I don't really have a real response to the rest), tanks have mobility because they need something to make them functionally different from juggernauts (tanks have innate engage while juggernauts have high damage).

Imagine how useless Leona would be without her dash, or Sion without his ult, or Amumu without his E. That's why tanks have mobility.

I thought it was Korea? Am I missing something or are people just making stuff up to complain about at this point?

That's kinda my beef against this bandwagon.

I mean, with how China easily crushes Dota2 as its biggest playerbase that occupy the majority seat all by itself alone, where Dota2 has always had longer game sessions than LoL ever had, not sure why "China want shorter game" is even a thing given it's pretty obvious that they don't really care.

.......

so they use statistics, because it's almost their only tool to balance their game.

I do think there is some truth in saying that balancing around statistics alone may have contributed at least partly to LoL's current balance. It would appear for the majority of champs, they are balanced entirely in an almost simulation environment, where the goal is just trying to get the champ to 50% win rate or other arbitrary win rate if it's a proven problem child, and rather than balancing the champs according to how they play out, with and against other champs.

This is a mere speculation on my part though. Who really knows why Riot is so bad at balancing LoL and only getting worse.

The Swain rework was good. Change my mind. And he had no mobility added to his kit
