Can someone please explain in detail how Dark Harvest works? I understand the part where you get stacks from killing monsters, but I don't understand how exactly the damage gets applied. Help please

The damage is applied to the primary target of your next auto attack if you make the attack while you still have the proc.

You have the proc for a short time (20 sec I think) after collecting a soul (dropped by ally AND enemy monsters, champions, and siege or super minions).

At 150 stacks the duration if the proc (time you can wait before using it) is greatly increased.

Since slain champions drop souls, it is useful for late game chain killing, as you can can sum the proc killing your first target, which will drop a soul to refresh the proc for the next target and so on.

The damage is adaptive like many runes this season. This means if you have built more AD than AP it is physical, while if you build more AP it is magic.

Do note that untargetibility such as fizz E or Vlad W can cause you to miss out on souls if misstimed, because they fly to you as a projectile.
