Why is League so Toxic?

I don't think I have ever played one game that has so many trash talking toxic people. What is it about this game, that people feel the need to do nothing but talk shit? Riot really doesn't help the matter with their tribune, it might ban someone if they are feeling frisky. This game is a lot of fun, yet people can't enjoy it and just quit, or troll, or just plain out shit talk the entire game. Just venting, getting really annoyed and figured this is better then saying something back and riot banning me and not the guy who was talking shit all game lol.

SR is toxic because of its mechanics. Snowballing advantage means that if an ally dies YOU get screwed over doubly hard because now the enemy is stronger. It also makes the majority of the game pointless as a free coast to victory for the team with the advantage, leading to a heavily defeatist attitude. Fixed role meta leads to internal disputes, and CS focus means that you spend most of your time grinding, and because of the snowball from earlier you almost never get into the action of the game in any sort of reasonable situation. It's always a stomp in one direction or the other.

These are what make people toxic. And do you know what Riot did about it? They made a map to remove all of these elements from the game, then decided to just delete it. Go back to your toxic cesspool. No more reprieve for you. Riot doesn't want players to be able to have fun, remain competitive, and enjoy a game in a non-toxic atmosphere.

You haven't played many "competitive" online games, have you? The first game like that I played was Battlefield 1942, and it had just as much trash talking and immaturity as League does today.

Xbox Live has just as bad of a reputation as League does, anyway. It's not just League, it's a problem with online gaming culture as a whole.

the meta isnt the mere cause , but people are upset because they cant suceed or have any fun in this meta . The meta is way too much snowbally and offer poor coutnerplays , comebacks and fun in both side of the game . You either ff at 20 or win in 15 min . Its one of the reason imo

The league player base is toxic because riot wants you to be super competitive and climb the ladder as you continue to buy their stuff but at the same time they want be people to be friendly and mature about the game. In all honesty you can't have a competitive environment and a friendly environment at the same time. Because those two things clash with each other. There are some rare occasions where you just get the perfect teams that know the game to its core. Objectives, csing and vision control. Because ranked play is for the try hards but the games majority player base is actually casual but can play ranked because they hit lvl 30 and have 16 champions they play ranked cause its a option for them they play way out of the meta like ryze support or teemo jungle and ruin matches for players trying at actually improve the game play by climbing the ladder.

The requirement to enter ranked play with the current number of champions and the increased amount of items, play styles, possible team comps and the increased player base lowers the friendly aspect of possible ranked games down to a toxic and hostile game environment. Don't get me wrong in not defending toxic players. I have had my fair share of raging at people special when I'm in a series to get promoted. But the door swings both ways. If you want to pick outside the meta at least take a champion that actually has potential for that role. Don't troll players in any aspect. The main reason I get pissed at other players is for the items they build. Any support that says they don't need sightstone or the upgraded support item that drops wards cause they have yellow trinket should be flamed on, cause he doesn't know what his job is. I forced myself to play my jungle game 100% differently caused I never trust the support to ward or clear wards. If you play support and you don't ward, buy pinks, switch your trinket to sweeper and kill steal your adv on purpose. Pick a different role and learn it cause you don't have what it takes to actually play support

I blame riot and how they impliment their ban system.

All it does is add fuel to the fire, which causes more accounts to be made with people who are more toxic than they were before.

The system as a whole is broken, the game would be far superior with no chat related bans, and people just using the mute feature, but riot has realised how much more dollars they generate with this ban system which is the only reason its in place.

No one whos been perma banned from league doesnt make a new account. Every perma banned player makes a new account, and once that acc is perma banned they make another.

The system just doesnt work

Because this is a team game, and every game that requires team work has toxicity in it. Its mainly because people make dumb mistakes, and they do it over and over to where you become toxic. For instance bot pushing to enemy tower when the enemy lucian is 7/1/2 and they dont even have river warded while your adc is 0/4.

I been thinking about it. League gets a bunch of crap for being toxic. Think about it though. Reason league is heavily known for toxic community is because it has such a big player base. COD and other games are just as toxic. I get tired of hearing kids say there gonna bang your mom or something stupid. League has its up and downs. I just think people get a little emotional when in a competitive situation and there trying hard.

because the game used to be good. it affects the playerbase alot when the game is getting worse and worse.
