I am getting +16 and -22 and this is causing me to lose all motivation to play this game. I know youll say that my mmr is trash but how am Ii supposed to get high mmr with my past 5 games having 1 afk and 2 int'ers. Even with this being i still climbed to gold from silver 2 so how is my mmr still bad this has been happening for the past month since i was in silver.

Play a few games with someone of a higher rank in Plat. The higher the better. There's plenty of people (Smurfs and normal people) that are just looking for a duo in any role to play with. A common place is the League of Legends discord. It's riskier but it not only puts you back into your mmr range, fixes your mmr for long term ranking up, and reduces losses, but also provides a lesser chance to have afks and inters. Afks and inters are commonly found moreso in lower ranking tiers where stakes are low in comparison to med-high elos where stakes are high.

You had a rough MMR drop from back to back losses. Its below your current Tier. Keep your vald win % at 55 or higher like you have been doing and it will be corrected in a few weeks of playing.

Everybody's quick to blame MMR but end of the day MMR systems work for their intended goals very reliably, as you can fill in the variables and rules then run a simulation to see how long it requires for accuracy.

Players don't seem to get that MMR is not looking at the gameplay experience, ever. Wins, losses, draws. That's all MMR cares about. If your playerbase has a surplus of toxic players then you see a surplus of toxic players in a game. MMR, It wont care, A player who completely crushes lane 50% of the time then acts like a small child, gives up, and throws games away if their lane pase was bad or they got ganked. Looks exactly the same to MMR as a player who is trying their very best and remains positive 100% of the time but does not have the mechanical ability to make significant impact on the outcome of a match. One wont climb because they lack maturity the other because they lack skill. You need to address player behavior with a completely different system because MMR never will. Its a shame but alot of folks don't understand the mechanics behind Elo drevitive systems. MMR is not accurate with low # of played games. MMR is not an absolute measurement of skill but an expected average that's meant to self correct constantly. A MMR value is a range of expectation that this will change from player to player even when its the same MMR value, and 100% accurately reflective of a players skill.

Now team games with RNG teammates need a MM system to lower mismatches. The range needs to be controlled to a range that's not gonna have expected averages where 1 player is grossly favored to the point it breaks the integrity of a match, that's to say you don't want your system to put some one into a game whos Bad games will still destroy another player on their best games.

Riots LP systems is not exactly the standard MMR system. Some parts are ok and related to match quality. Some are distractions just to make players feel better with out actually making any impact on quality. My suspicion is their MMR adjustments are to high when the K factor is high to move accounts rapidly to a better range of play. In theory, this is good for getting smurfs and Trolls outta standard ranges but rubber bands people off luck at a higher frequency until you see a lowerd K factor. Its not something Riot discusses so just guesswork on my end.

But the current Chaos? Yes... that's 100% something that could be anticipated. Channing the starting MMR value for a new account alone was going to make chaos on the ladder and should have set an expectation to see the entire thing drop down to lower values for all accounts. Adding New Tiers and trying Provisional matchmaking ontop of that just made it more dramatic. Preseaons and start of a season are always chaotic as it is so riot likely figured what the hell it wont get to outta hand. I think they underestimated the impact of playerbehavior.

Cuz players who lose frequently are gonna be annoyed. When your Old MMR value is no longer a valid representation of skill because the entire Statistical system has been shifted to lower values, not being able to achieve a result you expect and have consistently achieved is frustrating. And... I may just be biased here but I think a huge portion of the ladder is already pretty tiltable. So as folks lose their shit and stop playing to win or get hair trigger tempers you see them set off the other idiots who have the same attitude.

The ironic part is this was likely an attempt from riot to appease players, to make the silver experience better by addressing all the people upset at seeing newbies in their games. To make everybody salty about Autofill for years content with positional MMR. To make Bronze players feel better by adding Iron. To help High plats hit Diamond by introducing Grandmaster. You can usualy do some on paper math and get a reasonable expectation, test it on a small sample size. But once hit hits live this many things has real potential to go sidewise and I am of the opinion that it did.

Personally I think its an issue when riot focus on appeasement. Be blunt, be honest, set accurate expectations. If your an average player you will never climb in MMR. 50% of the ladder is expected to lose MMR in relation to their starting value.

I really wanted to try and get a community discussion going on matchmaker, but its proven to be difficult when folks don't know the system and don't feel like doing much more then complain.

Anyhow, bug me if your curious about MMR systems. I wont be able to give you 100% accurate information on Riots but I should be able to set better expectations then some idiot who believes in forced 50% win rates that doesn't even know what the Term K factor has to do with anything.

Note to self... Calling ignorant players idiots for complaining about MMR who have not taken the time to do even a single google search might contribute to the difficulty in creating a healthy discussion on the topic. Strive to be nicer and educate not belittle.

I have a 37% win rate and I lose 13 lp a loss and gain 21 lp a win. None of my games feel like they're decided based on how I play. I always said match making was bad, but since the positional ranking this season it's felt particularly worse.

dont bother. Ranked is a crapshoot at this point. Very little differentiates bronze thru plat, besides perhaps # of games played on that champ

unless ur good enough to get Diamond 3 +, it's all the same shit. Pick overtuned bursty champ, win games. Get afkers and feeders, lose games.

play aram or norms it's way more fun

this is happening to gm smurfs playing in dia who are getting +15/-20. The mmr system is fucked rn so yea, its also kind of annoying because i would be g3 promos rn if the mmr wasnt fucked. I would be getting your average 20LP per game like everyone SHOULD be getting, but nope.
