I live on east coast, but i play on wifi, i got like around 100 ping usually and it spiked occassionally. Wasn't too bad on most days. However i went on wired and holy shit my ping went to 80. I live on fcking east coast, the hell.

This has been happening to a lot of people, it's something to do with the new patch I assume.

your problem is your ISP provider and how they route things

is there an isp(using verizon atm) in ny that you can recommend? but im pretty sure it's not my provider because in lan, my ping is around 50-60, it even hit 30s.

Run tracert to any know west coast server or if you can find the IP of the League servers use that. IT will show you the actual pathing your connection is making.

Wifi is not meant for gaming. It has to check packets for loss data and then request the bad/missing packet packets. Plus the signal travels i think 1/5 the speed of wired(type of wifi dependent). Plus cell phones, microwaves, tvs, ect cross into the 2.4 transmission frequency.

TLDR WIFI, Its a tarp.

I get 86 on wired and 90 wireless.

Wifi is less stable, typically has less throughput, and a higher ping. But I have a hard time believing switching to wired made your ping go from 100 to 50. Especially on the East Coast. You would be hard pressed to find a 50 ms ping between 2 core backbone routers using one on each coast. Add in last-mile latency and latency from the backbone to Riot's network and Riot's servers, 50 ms to League from the East Coast is impossible.

ok fine, maybe i exagerrated a LITTLE bit, but i get 80, which is really good imo
