Question on earning chests

Just wondering since I've hit my cap for chests earned and my next one wont be available for another four days, if I or a premade teammate get a S rating while I'm playing a champ that I have not earned a chest on yet, does that basically eliminate my chances of getting a chest for that champ for the rest of the season? Or will it just ignore it and not highlight that the champ has earned a chest. I don't want to play champs I haven't earned a chest on yet if its going to eliminate the amount of chests I can earn in the end since I dont have the availability for another four days.

The champion will be given that border only when you get an S while a chest is available to get, however once they get that border, you can not earn a chest on them for the rest of the season.

So ya, you are safe to play them and get S's

Awesome thanks for the reply, went ahead and tested it got a S- on Fiora who I didn't have a chest for yet and nothing changed still can earn one on her.
