Elise. Looking for opinions on my typical builds, and also on possible buffs?

Hello! I am quite an avid Elise player, however, I only have won 49% of my games with her in ranked. Mechanically honestly I would say I am one of the better Elise players in the game(not like there are many left anyways). But it would be super rad if I could hear some opinions of others! My typical builds usually include something along the lines of item 3724 item 3020 oritem 3158 depending on whether or not I build frozen heart. Then I either head to something like thisitem 3110 item 3083 item 3157 item 3065 or something like this if ionian boots item 3075 item 3143 item 3065 item 3102 I also throw Zhonyas into that depending on the situation. Everyone says Elise is better with pen, but I honestly don't see it. Cinderhulk doesn't give her enough early damage and she barely uses the aoe damage. Only for clear really. Hardly that. She's nowhere near tanky enough if she builds full tank to withstand the entire team's onslaught. And building her with a item 3136 afterward I don't see her being tanky enough to take anything really. Maybe I'm wrong in what I'm saying idk, but from playing her as much as I have recently these are my own opinions. I also feel max cdr is an absolute must. She needs to have as much utility as possible as quickly as possible to make up for that lack of damage. I feel she's caught somewhere between a mage assassin and a tank mage. Looking forward to hear your opinions! Thanks!

Well first off what runes and masteries are you running on her first. One thing to remember about Elise is that she work well as a magic pen tank. So build cinderhulk and then magic pen items. This build helps alot against the tank heavy meta that's happening right now. Don't take my word on it. I play Elise when I can so my skill level is low. But I have seen many Steamers that play Elise in the jungle.

Here are some build done by pros: http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/s5-jungle-elise-queen-of-the-jungle-v-75-top-viewed-342888 http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-legends/build/c9-meteos-elise-guide-394093

Don't mean to spam but I really want to drive this home sort to speak. If lichbane was dynamic it could shine on Elise.

Triforce's 30 ad and ap and 8 movement speed is comparable to lichbane's 80 ap and 5% move speed (in fact with just those bare stats triforce holds a bit more gold worth). For 700 more gold triforce has HP, crit and attackspeed to boot, not to mention phage passive. And its sheen proc does considerably more damage off the bat compared to lichbane as a standalone item. Not to mention it can lifesteal off the spellblade proc, lichbane can't.

I don't see any reason why lich couldn't be rearranged such that it could have two equations; one for ap champions who likely wont exceed 300 ap, the other for ap carries with upwards of 400 ap.

Would go like this:

If equation #1's dmg is greater than equation #2's output than equation #1 is used. in other words spellblade would deal magic damage for the greater value between: Equation #1:

... deals 65 (+5 per level) magic damage (+ 25% AP) bonus magic damage.

Equation #2:

... deals 75% base AD (+ 50% AP) bonus magic damage.

If lichbane could spellvamp on portion 1 of the equation at 50% reduced effectiveness, you could have a wota lichbane Elise. I think it would suit her kit nicely, healing off her bite.

If you know how to play her and are experienced, I recommend a more AP heavy build. The first thing to consider though are runes and masteries, you want to maximize your early damage to snowball so they need to be nearly all offensive. AS works amazingly for her early game believe it or not.

Builds that I've had good success with recently look something like this:

Core (IE, I build them every game at some point no matter what): item 3285 Because it offers 100(+scaling) flat damage to her burst which how low ratios, the flat damage helps greatly. item 3102 I consider this core because it helps her mitigate her biggest weakness, CC.

As far as jg item goes, either Cinder or Magus. Usually only magus if I need the cdr fast.

Boots: Very situational. Strong CC and I built Magus: Always mercs. If there's a vayne or draven or nasus ALWAYS tabi. If I built cinder and I feel okay I'll build Sorcs.

Armor Item: I usually only go one because I like her more bruiser. item 3056 if we're ahead for the CDR and because if I'm going heavier AP I can split push well and if you have spiderlings you can enter the turret, active, then let spiderlings tank like they used to with rappel and usually by then your minion wave will be there before the spiderligns are dead. That and your w with spiderlings on a tower with heavy AP melts turrets. item 3143 if I dont feel as comfortable.

Some Other AP item situationally. Morellos if I didnt get the cdr earlier or replace magus lategame with it. Abyssal if I need the MR or extra pen. Void staff if they have a mega tank. Zyhonya if I need the armor. I honestly rarely build Liandry's anymore. I still will ocassionally build Rylais.
