Is it worth it to come back to League after 8 years?

I stopped playing league seriously in 2010. I haven't touched the game since then. I saw a few streams of the game and it looks completely different (go figure; it's been 8 years). I never really was that good, but the reason I left I think was because I got tired of the trolling. Basically most of the games I played, I got matched with people that would either leave the game, or suck really bad, pretty much guaranteeing that we'd lose the game. Back then the only game options were 5v5, and 3v3 was still relatively new and not many people played it.

I haven't looked at what's changed in the past 8 years, but I'd be interested in the major highlights, what to expect, and if it's worth it to come back for the enjoyment factor. Honestly, I don't want it to be a stressful experience where I lose 8/10 matches because of bad team matching.

Thanks in advance for any optimism!

Yes, especially with nexus blitz on the horizon. Holy fucking shit this game mode is so good.

There is hope dude...just not until preseason. Riot have already said they don't want to make any of the big changes needed in the game right now until after worlds so best to wait until then.

Is "nexus blitz" new? Or do you mean changes to it coming are new? Where can I read about it or watch videos? Not sure what to search for right now. I found some videos about nexus blitz but it doesn't seem like it's very new?

Nexus Blitz is a new gamemode is being experimented with at the moment.

Changes to the game on the whole (SR/champions/Items) that are necessary to re-balance the champion pool are being delayed until after worlds.

Sorry for being ignorant here, but what is "worlds"? Google shows world championships, is that what you're referring to? The ones starting this month? I'm not familiar with Riot's "season" based release model. Could you explain a bit more? Thanks again for your help.

That's fine dude. Yes I mean The World Championships. I don't think it's due to start until October.

Think for yourself and make the decision. Most people who will reply to this are people that like to make everything sound like the next Happening, so they'll just say it's a dead game and it's the worst thing in the universe. If you ask me with the Nexus Blitz thing coming out it could be a decent time to check it out again since it's a less strategic mode.

Yah, if you haven't played the game for THAT long period it is worth coming back then. The game is so different that you'll feel like you're playing 8t from the start(aka like a new player). If you don't feel confident about playing newer champions or reworks of the champions, I suggest playing the champions you used to play but didn't get reworked(unless your mains got reworked). Although you might get a little bit frustrated as the game isn't really that well balanced as of right now. Maybe if you really want to feel comfortable when re-learning the game you should wait a little bit longer. If ya start immedaetly, embrace yourself. If you choose not to come back, it's fine, your choice anyways, at least we're thankful for stopping by! [slayer-jinx-wink]
